Cubs gone, now the A's need to get rid of the Yankees.

So glad the Cubs choked away the division and that Wild Card game.

Here is hoping the As finally can beat the Yanks tonight.

Even if I stayed up way too late, no regrets over it since the Cubs lost. Fuck them all.

Is there an over/under for number of pitching changes tonight?  Guessing 11

I'd put Yankees and RedSox above Cubs for being the worst.

I have this ugly mental situation now where I hate the Yankees a lot, but I'm a big fan of Andrew McCutchen and Cutch was moved from SF to the Yanks this year. So I kind of simultaneously want them to lose and win at the same time. Lose because they're the fucking Yankees and win because Cutch's production is in serious decline mode, so this might be his best chance to have success beyond those three straight playoff years with the Pirates that peaked with a 3-2 divisional series loss.

I get that, fan of his game, wanted Tribe to get him, but still, Yankees are the worst

I have a lot of Cubs fans that are actual, good fans. It’s the stupid people who move here and it’s “cool” to be a Cubs fan that make them insufferable. My friends loathe them, which I respect. That said, they beat us, so fuck them. Fuck them, Braves, Red Sox, Marlins forever. Yankees have never really provided a crushing loss to the Tribe in my lifetime. I hate them, but the ALCS in 1998 is the only big heartbreak versus them. But that team was unbeatable, so, kinda whatever.

Or the celebrity "lifelong" Chicago fans, like John Cusack & Obama, who have been seen wearing either Cubs or White Sox gear, depending on whichever way the wind blows that day.

I don’t have any issue with any team in the playoffs. Hoping for some great games

That would be number 2. But tough to compare a divisional round loss when you’re a flawed team (injuries to the staff) to losing in the WS or ALCS in 7 games (97/07/16). Only other one was ‘95 in 6, but Tribe was by far the better team than Atlanta all year.

We just haven’t met up and lost to the Yankees in the playoffs as much in the later rounds. Only time was 1998, when losing 2-4 was a win cause Yankees were unbeatable.

No I didn’t. If you think last year is as crushing as ‘07/‘16/‘95/‘97 you are crazy. If the Yankees beat us this year in ALCS, I’ll hate them as much as the others. But I never expected to win in ‘98 and if you throw in last year might as well through in the O’s and Mariners as well.

Tribe is 3-2 versus Boston in playoffs and 2-2 vs NYY. Both solid records. But despite only playing them each once in the LCS, Yankees were a pipe dream to win while Boston took the WS from us after 3-1.

Sabathia pitching in this potential elimination game seems lazy on the part of the Yankees front office

!st run of the game is a HR by a relief pitcher who went to bat to keep in the game more than one inning!
