Knowing what we know with Tucker....if you are the GM of a team and there was a kicker in the draft that was a guarantee to perform just as Justin Tucker has over his career....and this imaginary kicker would be at Tucker level for at least a decade....

Is there a WAR for kickers? I swear a few years back Tucker won 3 games with his insane kicking that I just don’t believe anyone else does. Not a great kicking division either. A lot of wind and poor footing.

4th round. Can't see spending a 1st through 3rd round pick on a kicker.

If he’s guaranteed to be 10 years at Tucker level...I’d take him in the 3rd

With current NFL rules favoring offense, and xp distances, plus more teams going for it on fourth down.... Id say 7th round. 

I could see going as high as third.  That's an amazing weapon.

That was dumb for sure but guaranteed Tucker accuracy for a decade. This ain’t Nugent or a top collegiate kicker...this is GOAT

He wouldnt have done that 15 years ago

If we're playing "magic land" and being able to know that, with no chance of error, this hypothetical kicker is going to be Tucker-level, I might go as high as second-third round IF I already have a potential SB-caliber team (ie: very, very few of those glaring holes you want those top draft picks to fill) or at least one that has a shot, but is facing a closing window (like the situation we're possibly looking at with Pittsburgh). If I had a poor team or one that is in the slot that's been occupied by teams like Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit and their like over the past decade or so where they might be a threat to make the playoffs, but don't really do anything when/if they get there, he'd be a luxury I'd have to pass on because I'd have more important holes to fill to go that high on a kicker who might push me from 7 to 9 wins.

But if I had a legit good team, I'd be willing to go pretty high in order to get a near-automatic kicker who has great range because that can be a big difference in any close game. Hell, you should know that, Ironman. What would Pittsburgh's record be right now if they had Tucker instead of Boswell (or even the Boswell of the past couple years instead of the Boswell of this year, for that matter)? I'm not gonna take the time to chart every miss and when it happened for him, but I know they've been in a lot of close games and lost a few of them and he's been shaky enough for me to guess that 8-5-1 could easily be 11-3 or even 12-2 with someone like Tucker, who makes those kicks formalities 99% of the time.
