If their careers were to end today, what ACTIVE players do you think are a surefire lock for their respective HOF (all sports). I know I'm missing quite a few, but to get it started:

Lebron James, James Harden, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant...Mike Trout, Albert Pujols...Tom Brady, Adam Vinatieri, Drew Brees...Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin

Agree on Kershaw, uncertain if CC is first ballot

Not sure on criteria here. First ballot or sure fire? There is a difference. Anyway, went with guys who are definitely getting in, and will be close to first ballot.

  • Chris Paul
  • Robinson Cano
  • Felix Hernandez
  • Antonio Brown
  • Dwight Howard

Cano won’t 1st ballot due to PED suspension

What win total do you think that voters will look at for pitchers? Of the ones mentioned, only Verlander and Sabathia are over 200. Some of the others are still quite a bit away from 200.

Scherzer and Kershaw could get the Koufax type right now....same for Trout

3 CYAs for Scherzer has to help. I don't think he's a slam dunk first ballot due to win total. But he's gotta be close.

Scherzer is in. Just maybe not first ballot. 3 and maybe 4 this year, CYA sure seems like first ballot to me though.

Greinke is interesting. Only once did I consider him the best (and he got a CYA that year). But he is going to be over 200 and has 5 top-10 and 3 top-5 CYA seasons. Plus this season where he won’t because changing leagues. 3.31 career ERA and led league in various categories a few times.

I would say most don’t even consider him a lock for the HOF.

Greinke has a lot left. He’s crazy but uses it all for good lol. He’s going to the HOF....not first ballot right now. Not counting him out of winning 300.

I think he should’ve beaten Arrieta in 15?

Absolutely. But I still think Kershaw was the best pitcher in baseball.

I doubt that. You think he is going to pitch to like 43?? And that’s being generous to his win total each year.

He’s different man. I could see him going to 43 if he wanted. It would require 2-3 hang on years but it happens. He knows how to pitch and keeps himself in elite shape.

He’s going to rack up some wins on the Astros.

I doubt he makes it, just not counting him out

Greinke last 9 years he’s 137-55

Averaging over 15 wins a year last 12 years

He’s still very very good. I see no reason he can’t be very very good another 2 years and pretty good 2 more.....if on a good team like the Astros i think he can keep a 15 average 4 more years

I’ll set the over/under career wins at 266.5....
