Surprisingly, I’ve only been to one opening day (2015) and that was because the weather was hideous and my son and I went….enjoyed the frigid day and rain set in about 3rd inning (no clue how it wasn’t snow)…..by 6th inning everyone cleared out and we went from the 300 seats to THE FRONT ROW, elbows on the dugout. In the 8th Todd Frazier hit a ridiculous HR to tie it and crowd went bananas and wouldn’t stop until the curtain call….as he stepped out he looked in my direction and tipped his cap, being in the moment good I had my hat already topping at him. I recorded game on TV and it gave an incredible screenshot of Todd and I tipping caps to each other…..it’s framed on my playroom wall…..then in the 9th Devin Mesoraco walked it off with a HR

Incredible atmosphere.

Later that summer Cincy hosted ASG and Frazier won the first ever derby with the current format and I was in LF in middle of all of it.

Ah….back when it was fun lol

As a Pirates fan, I can say that a detached state of numbness is at least less painful than having your heart broken. Better to feel nothing whatsoever than to feel pain. Sure, SOME people say that is not psychologically healthy, but what do they know?

What a complete horse shit head case blown save by Diaz….Lodolo goes 7 shutout innings and Diaz was unhittable in the 8th…..in 9th with 2 run lead he fucking nibbles and walks Castellanos then it all implodes.

My first inning of the season and I get this? Woof. 

Chattanooga wins 7-5 while getting no-hit. All 7 runs in the same inning, featuring 5 walks, 4 hit batsmen, an error, and a wild pitch. Send the baseball to the Hall of Fame. Never happening again.

The Reds aren’t great but they are so improved on the base paths (decisions)….they are nicely more athletic and push the issue on the bases. Most players can play several positions.
