JT was by far the best golfer all week, so very deserved. Bad half of the draw, in a tournament that really swing to the good half. Would’ve been the leader after 36 if he had swapped tee times.

If he swapped Tee times before the weekend he probably runs away with jt

Probably not Dustin Johnson.

Morikawa, X, and Im

I was thinking Morikawa, and a flyer on Reed (starting to get into form)

both would pay nicely

Morikawa has been bad putting recently. Lost like 7+ at PGA. Of his 4 biggest wins (PGA, Open, “Fake” Memorial, WGC) they have been proceeded by 4 of his 7 worst putting performances. He also has 4 of his best 7 rounds putting at this course.

Just seems primed to remind us all he is right there as the best in the world.

X only wins small field events and Im is in form and just a hunch he is there on the weekend.

I really need to get back to the Memorial. I’ve been 5-6 times from like 1987-2014ish.

Was there in 1991 at a practice round on #17 by the water cooler…just me and my dad. Mike Reid comes up and tees off and tells us to check out the guy behind him…he’s a dandy. It was John Daly in one of his first tournaments on tour. He was nice and talked with us a bit….and then we watched him swing lol Holy Hell. 3 months later he was the No name that won the PGA

Was also their Tiger’s first appearance….I’ve never seen anything like that before on since.

Was there the one year on a Saturday and they just called it due to forecasted weather…can’t recall the winner. A tall guy. Big in early 90’s.

One practice round a foursome of Jack, Arnie, Tiger and I think Watson walked right by.

Edit: it was Bob Tway but it was the next year they finished on a Saturday….Greg Norman won that year

Billy Horschel won easily at the Memorial and his daughters right afterwards were  precious. Really cool.

Had the wrong guy, but Memorial continues to be a breakout tournament. So many guys have gotten their first big win at that course. Hideki, Morikawa, Rahm (this or Farmers), Cantlay, Bryson, and Rose. And that’s just in the past 10-12 years.

Had outrights in Niemann, Im, Smith and Morikawa. Fired some darts, but no bullseyes.

Had a blast there Saturday.  Congrats to Billy ho.!  Haven't seen a replay but Adam Scott took an 8 on the par 3, 16th yesterday, without going in the water.  On the PGA Tour app shot-by-shot it appears he may have whiffed 3 times in a row ....perhaps trying to do a flop shot and sliding underneath the ball ???

I'm going with all non-LIV players in my pool.

But they have sympathy for the 9/11 victims, shouldn’t that count?

You may hear boos on the golf course for the first time in history.

A Boston crowd - I’d bet on it.

I don’t care at all.  I still don’t understand why Mickelson received so much more crap than the others.  They can play for who they want.  They have to live with themselves.  If they’re okay with it, so be it.  I probably won’t watch it though.  Not one of the personalities in it is interesting to me.

I’m just going to watch to see who plays the best and manages the course the best, really really don’t care about anything else

Definitely not 1-1. Supporting/using products that also use Saudi money/products or do business in Saudi Arabia is different than being employed by a Saudi owned company.

It's grandstanding, plain and simple. The principal remains. You care about one and not the other. They're both effectively accomplishing the intended purpose for the Saudis, but one has a little nuance so its harder for the brain to grasp I guess. Point remains unchanged though.

To be clear. I don’t care what they do. I’d take the money as well.

But they are making a very poor choice for their careers outside of the money and public reaction. They aren’t competing. They aren’t playing real golf. They wont have a legacy (other than Phil and DJ who have an established one). I also don’t see how this league survives, unless the euro/pga tours allow it to coexist and members flow between it. At some point, spending billions a year with no return will run thin — even on oil money.

I don't disagree with that. I just don't care for the people pretending they care. No ones ever offered them 9 figures and won't or they'd quit the moral high horse.
