I haven’t paid attention since the Reds went out (obviously)

Free advice to TB: When your starter struggles to get through the fourth, throwing a lot of pitches and giving up a two-run bomb, maybe don't bring him back out for the fifth. Especially considering the Series has off days, unlike the rest of the playoffs this year, so you don't exactly have to worry about overworking your bullpen.
Plus, Tampa never lets their starters go deep
Game 1 was the lowest rated World Series game of all time.

Game 7 of NLCS was higher rated than any NBA Finals game

Both sports seem to be struggling with ratings. There was a time when I never missed a baseball playoff game, except for some day games if I was at school/work, and I watched a lot of basketball playoff games. I've watched very little baseball since the Indians have been eliminated, and I have hardly watched any basketball at all this postseason.
NBA got killed by NFL and basically every other sport being back.
MLB, well, they have been fucking up their sport for years. Just another year of dwindling ratings
I'm kind of the exception on MLB, being an older guy who barely pays attention where we're the primary group that's still watching. I find much irony that the way the game should be played according to the advanced statistics makes the game far less interesting to watch.
End of last night's game basically justified this entire season. All sorts of insanity all happening at once.
Dave Roberts appears to be on the precipice of over-managing again. Kershaw has been really good tonight, but he has May warming. For me, this is Kershaw thru the 7th unless he gets 2 aboard.
No matter if he's safe or out I like to see the straight steal of home.

I like May after them having seen Kershaw 2-3x....very different. He’ll have to locate some but his 101 wildish near the zone looks a lot different than lefty Kersgaw
posted by Ironman92I like May too, but I don't agree with the decision even if it works out (has so far). I can remember baseball back to the late 70s, and I agree with you. I think that it is a combination of smaller stadiums and analytics that have turned it into a game of too many homeruns and strikeouts. Runners like Rickey and Coleman were fun to watch and put so much pressure on the defense.
With that said, what I have watched of the World Series has been entertaining.
So Dave Roberts is up 3-2 in the series...has lost last two World Series and is pitching Gonsolin who is 0-2 with a 9.3 era this postseason.
You don’t want game 7 with an underdog.
Note to Dave Roberts
1 win and it’s over....do NOT remove ANY pitcher that is “on”

As long as Roberts is the manager for LA, I don't think I'd call TB the underdog if it goes 7.

It’s funny that you think Cash makes better decisions.
Pulling Snell. Jesus fuc...

The most obvious dumb move I think I’ve ever seen. Snell was rolling and dominating the top 3 next up batters...to think those batters didn’t want him out of the game.
No feel whatsoever...just fucking cuteness
MVP?
Had Kershaw after last game. But think Seager gets it, though Mookie is close. He could steal (see what I did there??) it with his signature moments despite not being quite as good at the plate as Seager.
The Justin Turner - Covid thing is strange.
So Turner tested positive...then second positive came back and Dodgers were instructed to remove him in the 2nd inning.....thy didn’t and were forced to remove him later in the game and he was instructed to not return. He of course returned with mask for celebration with mask....but then removed mask for team pic.
We’ll see I guess but again, I simply don’t care. Twitter going silly.

Yeah, that was utterly stupid and he deserved to lose off that decision.

The season is over, so I'm not quite sure what the fuss is all about. Potentially, some older coaches and team officials who would have been put at risk. That's on him and them - the MLB protocol, IMO, ended the moment the season did.
I don't even think he should be fined. If someone gets seriously sick as a result of his actions, that will be more than punishment enough.
Just the timing of it all is bizarre to me. He played up until the 6th inning or so right? Why do a test that won’t be resulted til damn near the end of the game. “Hey we’re gonna do this test and hope it’s negative because you’ll spend all day around your team before we know the result of it”
