Always nice to get a win over an in state school. (I didn't get to watch)
Heard it was like watching paint dry.
UC’s top player Cumberland...his nephew and niece are two of my students at school and they were sitting court side.

It was a good game for OSU. Hostile enviroment, very physical game, defensive struggle. OSU's defense was very solid and their foul shooting was good. I want to say 12 of 16 but don't quote me on that. Kyle Young had a very nice game rebounding and defense.

16 - 22 from the line. 72.7%

you heard wrong-- good opener for OSU, refereeing sucked, nice comeback by Cinci...not sure what to expect out of the Buckeyes this season, but they play hard, are disciplined, and are fun to watch
On a side note, UC did a great job on their new arena.

Looked really nice on TV. Looked like the fans were right on top of you,and that place was LOUD.

This came from a UC fan who watched his entire team suck shooting ....and compared to watching Duke the night before

Yeah, they did suck shooting. About 14% in the first half and I think under 30% for the game. As for the game overall, it's what you expect from an early-season game. Ugly and disjointed a lot on offense, with a lot of that being because for both teams, the defenses seemed a step or two better than the offenses. I thought OSU looked good, especially considering that two freshmen and one grad transfer got a lot of playing time, as did Young, who was a benchwarmer last year AND considering that one role player quit two days before the season even started. None of those new or less experienced players looked overwhelmed by the moment and pretty much everyone who played had positive contributions. It was a good way to start off the year, playing a team like Cincinnati that is big, athletic and physical; as opposed to the nonstop string of WhoTheFuckAreYou University that we've had to watch them play in a lot of previous seasons.
While it was a win over a lower-tier team, it was fun watching them put up over 100 on Purdue Fort Wayne yesterday. Really had a great second half. Only up by 7 at the break and then scored 66 in the second. I don't know how well they'll contend with the league's best teams, especially with their lack of depth inside, but they're at least showing the potential to be a good team with a lot of ability.
Buckeyes win tonight. 69 - 60 over Creighton. Buckeyes led by 12 at the half. Creighton rallied to take a 60-56 lead with 4 minutes left in the game. Buckeyes held them scoreless and scored the last 13 points of the game. Total team effort. Nice win on the road.
Chris Holtmann is a wizard, leading this team to a 3-0 record, including two impressive road wins. Like I said before, I don’t know if this team has the talent or depth (yet) to match last year’s success, but they sure are fun to watch...GO BUCKS!
They don't go away and they don't hang their heads or point fingers when things aren't going well. They keep working. Case in point- C.J. Jackson had a bad game going 0-6 shooting and 6 turnovers, he didn't hang his head or start jacking up shots to get his points. He kept playing and working hard on both ends of the court. Lo and behold C.J. Jackson hit a big 3 pointer and a driving layup to put the game away.
St John Arena > The Schott
There is NO comparison between these two for basketball. St John Arena is one of the truly classic college basketball venues in the country. The Schott is a cheap copy of every NHL/NBA arena in the country. Ohio State f-ed up so bad when it built that POS.
Loved seeing the Kellogg/Herb Williams era uniforms. I always liked the script Buckeyes on the jerseys.
Yeah, I loved those uniforms too. Lots of great childhood memories of that look. "Goal by Kelvin Ransey".
#1 in the first ever NET ratings. Completely meaningless, but still fun.
Luther Muhammad out with a dislocated shoulder. Buckeyes start Big 10 play today against Minnesota.
Buckeyes win 79-59. Minnesota went 0-13 from 3 point range.
ALWAYS good to see Minnesota lose to Ohio State in hoops.........1972
Yes the riot at Williams Arena was one of the most terrible incidents in the history of sports. I was 10 going on 11 and with the late start 9:00 our time I was not able to watch the game (bed time, school night). I remember having a very animated conversation at the dinner table with my parents that night. The conversation ended with me vowing to never root for teams from Minnesota in any sport. I did however root for Jim Brewer when he was a Cavalier as he tried to help The OSU players during the melee.
Big road win for the Buckeyes @Illinois 77-67. Balanced scoring and strong defense again.
Nice win vs UCLA. They struggled a little in the first half but opened it up in the second.
I'm still not sure how good this team is. Most of their wins are against average at best teams.
Yeah, I want to see this team against UM and MSU.

lol--unbelievable...Matta's teams would be .500 at best at this juncture...guess we'll see soon enough
