At what age did you begin each sport as a kid? How long did you play that sport. Wish you would’ve started any of them earlier?

Baseball ... 7 but almost 8

Basketball ... 3rd grade (age 8)

Football .... flag 3rd grade (just turned 8)

Golf .... went out with parents every Sunday starting at age 6

I played baseball and golf thru high school with opportunities for both in D3 college.

Basketball through freshman year

Football through 6th grade (same season as golf)

T-ball...I don't know. What age do you start t-ball? Five? I played for however many years you play, lol. Then I moved onto softball. I wasn't great, but I wasn't bad and I was really fast. I stopped after 8th grade, so I played one or the other for 9ish years.

Basketball - I only played in 7th and 8th grade.

Volleyball - Ditto. 7th and 8th only.

Track and field - 7th through 12th grade. I was good and I enjoyed it.

Cheerleading - 5th through 12th grade, plus a competition squad on the side. Spare me the cheerleading is not a sport rhetoric. I don't care.

Gymnastics - On and off from age 5 or so until high school.

I also took two dance classes per week from age 5 until 18 and was on the high school dance team.

I had basically no free time from 7th grade on, and I liked it that way. It was the main reason I never had a job until I graduated high school.

Baseball 5/6 through sophomore of hs. I was good enough to start but that was about it.

Soccer 5/6 all through high school. Was decent and could have played D3 but decided it was too much effort.

Did track my senior year just to screw around. Was decent enough for our small school to be on the 100 and 200 relay team.

Baseball - age 9.  Our neighborhood didn't form a Little League until then. Played LL for 4 years.  Yes, I wish I'd started earlier.  I had a Golden Book from the age of 4 about boys playing sandlot ball, then organizing themselves and learning the skills with a coach's help.  I always wished I were one of them.

Football - 7th grade, also 8th grade

Track - 8th grade and all of high school

Bowling - 5th grade.  Bowled thru 11th grade, took two years off, then joined my father in the adult league.  I bowled with him for 20 years until my first son turned 2, then I gave up the men's league.  My wife and I bowled in a couples league after that once or twice.

Baseball at 7 through high school
Basketball at 7 through high school
Football at 13 through high school
Golf at 13 and still play. Never played competitively though.
I started all 4 years on varsity at baseball and football. I never started varsity for basketball but was on the team. Oddly enough basketball was my favorite sport to play and the one I was the least good at lol.

Baseball             started Little League (4-5-6 Grade) Pony League 7-8 Grade  stopped playing in the 8th grade

Football              started playing in the Louisville Peewee League, Jr High, High School  1/8 Season Training Camp Semi Pro  (didnt make the cut after the Pro where cut, came down to the Semi to play)

Basketball           started in the 7th to freshman Jr High (played at the Boys club, Housing Project playground all summer and all day was basketball)  loved basketball but I could not play Basketball and Wrestle at the same time once I got to high school. Football coach convinced me to Wrestle. I was very good but looking back I really wanted to play Basketball.

Wrestling           started my sophomore year all my high school years.

Track                  started my 7th grade and high school.

Boxing                started in the 5 grade as a Boys Club event, off and on but stopped around the age of 14 teen  I did Box once in the Army. Basic training a team of Russia came and you could volunteer to Box three rounds.  I did OK stayed in for all three rounds, got some good punches in but also took a few.

I had scholarships for football, track and wrestling but we where poor, single parent ,mom sick bottom line was could not afford to go and someone had to work for the family … plus was Drafted 2 months after high school graduation  at some point all competive sport comes to a close

Basketball - 3rd grade through high school; we had some great varsity teams in one of the best leagues in Ohio.

Baseball / Football - mostly neighborhood/sandlot stuff, some organized.

Golf - since I was probably 10 years old; played some inter-club in H.S.; still greatly enjoy the game although have not played much lately.

Baseball - kindergarten through high school

Wrestling - kindergarten through 4th grade

Soccer - 1st/2nd grade through college, still play

Basketball - 4th grade through 8th grade

I only wish I wrestled more. I was terrible. But, I've always enjoyed the sport. Still watch it when I can. My best friend of 28 years was a stud wrestler. I'm glad I still play soccer, as I went 4+ years not really playing with work relocation and lack of opportunities. I wish I could have done more as a kid with soccer, but it wasn't as available as it is now.

Anyone coach youth sports? I did a two year stint as K-6 wrestling coach for the private school my wife was working at at the time. The kids were great overall, but at times it was like herding cats.

Coached both kids in baseball (T-Ball, coach pitch, kid pitch and travel), soccer (U-6 through U-15, recreational and club) and basketball.

Made lots of memories that we still talk about....

I coached HS aged baseball for 10 years.

Asked to coach youth a number of times but turn it down because of.......parents. way too often I see parents at youth games making asses of themselves and getting ejected.    So so embarrassing    've seen more youth parents and coaches thrown out of games in 3 summers than I did in 10 yrs of coaching hs kids and playing.

Baseball from when I was 5 till I was 12 (through 6th grade)

Cross Country - 7th grade through college.

Track and Field - 7th grade through junior year of college. Decided not to run my senior year and pretty much stopped running all together since then.

I wish I would have given wrestling a chance in high school and maybe not given up on playing baseball. Also just wish I could find the motivation to get back into running again. I'll start doing it for a week or two but really never continue to get back into any kind of consistency.

I think if I wouldn't have moved from Ohio I would have probably gotten into coaching CC/T&F.

I coach for a living.

Started in college doing youth camps all summer long. First year out of college was a varsity boys and girls assistant at a local HS. Got hired for their head coach for their girl's middle school team. Then, got into college coaching after that season. Spent 8 years at different colleges. All the time I have spent with youth soccer clubs and/or camps working with kids.

Currently work with a high-level amateur team trying to send guys pro. Still work with clubs and camps.

Baseball when I was 7 or 8 years old and I quit playing baseball when I got into junior high

Play football in pee wee  6-7 year football league in Louisville Ohio played it all the way through high school and tried a little Semi-Pro didn't make it

Play basketball when I was 7 years old it was a youth basketball league at the Canton Boys Club

Started boxing when I was around 9-10 years old  few fights up to about teenage years 12-13

Ran my first track meet when I was in the 7th grade hundred yard dash 220 low hurdles I did that pole vaulting I did high jumping I did the broad jump and I did the 220 relays and 4 by 100 relays or whatever the coach wanted me to do I did it

I started wrestling my freshman year in high school. I really like basketball more but I had weekend calls and the football coach told me to go out for wrestling so I did what it was

There was not a sport that I didn't go out for that I didn't make first-team or Varsity my first year of Eligibility to play varsity.

I had a neighbor who was involved in archery and I used to go out and shoot archery quite a bit which was kind of fun I got pretty good at it but I never really picked it up as a real sport

My wife and I started to play tennis when we both graduated from college and I love tennis quite a bit and I played it for 15-20 years is a great sport I wish I would have taken tennis a lot sooner but it was never offered when I was in my youth.

Started to play golf after I graduated from high school pretty good at it but never really had the time to play that much golf

Basketball: 5th grade through high school. Still play a couple times per week. If I could go back I would do so much more weight training beginning in high school. Once I started in college my abilities on the court grew a ton. I would have probably convinced myself to go play at a D2/3 school, though, and I'm glad I didn't do that.

Baseball: Kindergarten through high school. Weight training would have helped here too.

Cross-Country: Ran from junior high through high school. Started running annual competitive runs the school put on in grades 4-6.

Track: 7th grade through 10th grade. After two years of not enjoying running in the cold of the winter, I decided to just stick to baseball.

Golf: Never competitively, but I started in a youth league when I was 10 or so and have enjoyed golfing since.

Baseball:  6-7. We were/are a big baseball town so it is popular.

Track: 7th and 8th grade. We don't do JH baseball so many just run track. I did shot/disc and 4x400M relay...the first and very last events. HATED IT. Who knew that many years ago I became an actual runner!

Basketball:  7-8 I imagine.

Football:  We don't have football until 7th grade.  It is sort of ironic....in our county we have 6 HS's.  The 2 with youth/midget football have a combined zero state titles and rarely make the playoffs.  The 4 schools who don't have midget/youth football and have nothing until 7th grade have a total of 23 state football titles with a vast majority since 2000 (all public schools)

Baseball -- summer league ages 8-18; varsity grades 10-12(played every inning of all games, except one in 10th grade due to injury)

Basketball -- school teams grades 6-12; varsity 11th, starter 12th

Cross Country -- 11th(1967 was inaugural season for our school) & 12th grades

Golf -- wish we'd has a high school team; started playing on a course instead of yard at about 14 with my younger brother and dad; then when I could drive, my brother and I went to the closest public course one day a week in the summer
