Let’s hear it:

Card collections / perhaps a standout, valuable card from yesteryear

Autograph collection

Signed baseballs / footballs / pictures etc…

I have a relatively small collection of cards, but there are some real names in the group going back to the early ‘70’s.  We had a house fire when I was a kid and I lost some good stuff that would be pretty valuable today.  One of my existing favorites is a Gayle Sayers autograph – he was in town to speak and stayed at our neighbor’s house and we got to go over and meet him; it was around the time he blew his knee out  -- “Peace – Gayle Sayers”.  I was also able to get presidential contender Jack Kemp to sign his Buffalo Bills QB card that I had.

I don't have anything valuable. I do have an elite Ohio anecdote, which is that I got Orlando Pace's autograph when we were both eating dinner at Damon's on the lake in 1999.

My mom buys my oldest nephew a signed AL rookie of the year ball for Christmas each year. He has 2012 through present.

Actually, it just occurred to me that I took a picture with Sandy Alomar.  I randomly saw him eating at Subway, and my brother and I asked to sit with him.  He was cool with it.  Ate Subway with him and then took a picture.

Side note: That guy was huge for a catcher.  He had to be at least 6'5".

Anyway, if that picture counts as memorabilia, then that's it.

  • LeBron James signed jersey
  • Barcelona signed practice jersey. They were staying at same hotel, but no Messi...
  • Game used puck from 2018(??) NHL ASG

Personally, I have a ton of amazing credentials. Plus a sports Emmy and my Hole-in-One ball.

I’ll be inheriting a shit ton from FIL when the time comes. BIL and I will likely split. Talking Ruth/Williams signed photograph. Gordie Howe signed picture. Joe Montana signed ND Jersey. Jack Nicklaus signed photo. The list goes on. He was big into acquiring them. They don’t have “meaning” as a lot are from auctions etc, but still valuable and make his man cave one of a kind. He has so much that he has a Mantle, Joe D, Yogi signed photo in his garage...

Baseball Cards > $100

1969 Reggie Jackson rookie

Damn that's nice.

How do I go about getting cards graded?  I have a Barry Bonds traded set (rookie), along with Jerry Rice and Steve Young rookies, and a couple of the McGwire Team USA cards.  All in good condition, but have the typical "bend" most cards get if you didn't care for them perfectly.  Probably PSA 8.0-8.5, but I have no idea.  Jerry Rice might be worth over $100 and maybe the only one worth getting graded.

Not a big collector of theses things. The three most valuable to me have a personal connection: two pairs of goalkeeper gloves used by guys I coached who signed pro and a game-worn top of a player who I coached who signed pro.

1964 Cleveland Browns World Champions football signed by the team.  It was a gift from my grandpa to my dad when my dad was in the hospital with a severe hand burn as a child.  My dad gave it to me a few years after the Browns moved.  He still feels betrayed by the NFL to this day and has never really been the same fan.

Shoeless Joe is on my fantasy team for about the 10th straight year, always my top pick.

Just remembered I have one of the very few sheet metal ‘dies’ from the Cleveland Plain Dealer for the cover sports page  they printed when the Cavs won the title. Could be worth something way down the line.

The only sports memorabilia that I have is actually my own. A baseball from the perfect game I pitched in high school. Not really a collector.

Woody Hayes wrote a note to me on a white envelope after attending my grandfather's calling hours.  I was 11 years old and my dad said "hang onto that".

Impressive.

4 for 6 at the plate with 12 RBI's in the same game. Almost had two grand slams in the 1st inning. Was a good year. Threw 2 more no no's and two 1 hitters to go with that PG that season.
