Is "neither" an option here?

Best I can do is add drowning as an option.

Whatever is cheapest for my loved ones.  They don't need to drop a lot of coin on me if I'm gone.  As I sit here today, I really don't care.

I'd much rather do that, I think.

Without a suit sure. But if my space station just starts to float or teether line breaks, no thanks. That could be months of just knowing and waiting. I'd much rather just go within minutes.

Yeah, pop off your helmet and it's done. It actually wouldn't be a bad way to go. Float around in space for a bit and then end it when you're ready.

I'm 100% incapable of doing that.

I obviously cannot be sure I wouldn't get to that point. But based on 36 years of living, I would fight till the bitter end. Just don't have it in me to "pull the trigger".

Yeah that was going to be my question. How many people can do it? I don't think I could.

Given the alternative? Give me the quick, sweet relief of death.

I go back and forth. I'm a Mason and burial is a big part of the ritual. Then again, cremation is appealing as it is lower cost and just easier.

Wife says she would like to be buried as she doesn't want to be cremated. But, that was a few years ago.  Now, that we moved back to Ohio, we need to really update our options. Her family ran a funeral home for years, so not sure if we are buried, where it would be, her hometown or Cbus.

I want to be put in one of those vault things in a wall. I don’t want my casket to be underground.

I will say cremation is not always cheap. When my brother died of an overdose we decided on cremation Because we did t want a service because we didn’t know who would show up and didn’t want the drug friends to show up. Instead we did a party at a brewery ordered food and invited family and his lifelong friends. The cremation cost ranged from like $550 where they cremated and put you in what looks like a file holder  to 10k for the same file holder depending on location. In the suburbs they wanted between 6-10k for a basic cremation and holder. In the hood where I might also die picking up his remains it was as cheap as $550. We went with a place in the Short North area of Columbus that was about $1000 with an upgraded Urn and was in a safe area. We plan to spread his ashes but I will leave that up to when my mom is ready.

He's not kidding. I have seen a very in-depth discussion in Lodge (of at last 30 minutes) about whether our new Lodge polos will have pockets or not.
