But that wasn't the ending. There was like 45 minutes more of the movie. Horrible plot point? I'll give you that, but it's not an answer to the OP.

To be fair, that ended any semblance of a movie, so I am not completely wrong.


The battle with the creature afterwards was like a 30 minute "well crap, we need more action to keep up with Marvel". 


The Martha moment really ended the movie, it was that bad.
