The best the US has ever done in men’s luge is 4th. Currently we have a guy who is in 4th and only .001 out of 3rd after 2 of 4 runs.
That Luge track looks very difficult and very fast. I always enjoy watching Luge and Bobsled.

Old school military event. The biathlon belongs in the Olympics a hell of a lot more than any of the synchronized (gymnastic and swimming) events.
imo

Agreed (although not sure early 60's really qualifies as "old school military event"). It's actually really impressive to have that kind of physical exertion and then be able to compose yourself to shoot accurately.
Not sure curling really belongs, either - summer Olympics don't have bowling, billiards or shuffleboard.

"Prior to the biathlon debut at the 1960 Winter Olympics, there was a military patrol event that was held at four Winter Olympic Games: 1924, 1928, 1936, and 1948. Medals were awarded for military patrol in 1924, but it was a demonstration event for the other three Games."
Should the Olympics have golf? If so, than curling belongs.
Nice first Gold for the USA by Cleveland native in the snowboard competition.

Mazdzer wins silver!! And set a course record in his 3rd run. He finished .026 sec behind the gold medal.

The moustached guy on the curling team seemed like a fun competitor. I had that on in the background for a couple of hours last night.

Watching Tyson/Douglas on ESPN 2
Not sure if it is live or not since it’s in Tokyo
Anyone see the video during the opening ceremony of NBC throwing out completely false facts about the Netherlands? Pretty funny reading Dutch people’s reactions lol

Sorry but it was really really good. I never watched it in it’s entirety. Great!
as you were, sorry
I'm sure they have a reason for this but I hate when you get interested in an event and they just randomly cut away to something completely different. For some reason I was watching the mens 5000m speed skating finals and the entire time the commentators kept talking up this guy who apparently had won gold in the event twice already and was the GOAT about to crush everyone. Just as you think he's getting ready to skate, they cut away to women's snowboarding and figure skating.
Figure skating is to the winter olympics as gymnastics is to the summer. There's a fuckload of it and you have no idea if they're doing well or not.
Will watch a little bit here and there, if it's luge, bobsled, ski jumping, downhill, and hockey toward the finals.
^^^lol.....that doesn't even look possible to fall like that on the ice
Also, a woman luger had a spectacular wipe out. Don't think she was hurt.

Is there a penalty for that infraction?
wait a second.....how can it be possilbe that THIS OLYMPICS is the first time we've had an openly gay male figure skater competing?
Who give a fuck.
Mens halfpipe final at live 8:30 tonight, should be great. We'll see several brand new tricks from the top guys.
