12 minutes one way three times a week. Can't complain. Use to drive 45 minutes one way five nights a week.
I used to commute 200 miles round trip everyday. Did it for 15 years. Then moved closer 3 years ago. Now I have an 8 minute drive to work.

Yikes. I couldn't imagine doing that for 1 year, let alone 15. How many cars did you go through in that time period? What kept you from moving closer sooner?
Dear lord. My longest was about 60 miles each way, and even that made me want to jump out a fucking window.

Usually in a pair of basketball shorts (or sweats in the winter) and a t-shirt.
I'm jealous. I have to walk down to the basement, then to the other end of the house to reach my office. Have to stop and catch my breath when I clock in. Yeah, dress code is definitely on the casual side.

My wife has a short commute - 5 minutes. She works at the middle school adjacent to our housing area.
My drive time was 20-25 minutes most of my postal career, then 30-35 minutes the last 5 years. That last 5 years could have been worse, I was in danger of being forced to transfer to a post office one hour 15 minutes away - Ironman92 and BR1986FB territory right there. Coming home in rush-hour would have been miserable,
From 2002 upon college graduation until this past December, I drove 45 min to 1 hour and 15 min each way (couple different jobs). The most recent was the hour and 15 min, from south east of Akron all the way to the IX center area (corporate parks back there) by the CLE airport.
Love my "only" 30 minute commute now.
Usually listen to sports talk or podcast on the way.

Basically two cars. Had a Civic with 350k miles when I traded it in for an Acura TL. That had 550k miles when I traded it in. Waited for my wife's kids to graduate HS before we moved.

Got it. You're a better man than I am. I would've either changed jobs or moved and the kids would have had to deal with it.
posted by BR1986FBAn hour and 15 minutes each way. Drive myself and am listening to either Octane, Ozzy's Boneyard, Hair Nation, Liquid Metal or Turbo on Sirius XM.
Feel your pain man. Pretty much the same here, 145 miles round trip. Can make it in 80 minutes each way or much longer depending on the traffic
