Ray was great, but also released about the same time was Walk the Line about Cash. That was really well done too.

I liked Walk the Line, I'd probably give it an 8.5/10...whereas Ray is a definite 10/10.

I'd actually slot Straight Out of Compton between those two...9/10.

American Assassin -- 7/10

It wasn't bad.  I might watch it again if it's on somewhere.  The acting was really good.  The writing was mostly very predictable.  Still, if you haven't seen it, I'd recommend it.

Strangebrew first half 9/10, second half 2/10. Bizarre but funny.

Once upon a time in Hollywood.

0/8.

Horrible.  Almost the first movie I ever walked out of.

Not a fan of Tarantino?

Ive had 2 friends rank it around 5/9 of his movies, but still over a 7/10 overall.

Apparently not.   Just droned on and had so much potential for that story and cast but man just Stunk.  I would rate it a about middle of the road for his movies, but then again I don't really know any of his movies that I would ever want to see again.  We went with 3 couples, two of them left about the 2 he Mark and everyone else wanted to but I paid for a full movie plus who knows, maybe the end could save it.

It didn't

I watch Pulp Fiction a few times a year.

I wasn't huge on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood but it's certainly better than a 0/8. Ha. Definitely not QT's best movie, but I somewhat enjoyed it.

Watched No Country for Old Men tonight since I just read the book. Hadn't watched it in probably a decade. Great book, great movie. The Coen Brothers really didn't change much.

9.5/10

Ocean's 8 - 6.5/10. It was enjoyable. I like most of the actors that were in it.

I was skeptical coming into it, but that was about what I thought, too.  It was fine.

I kinda wish they'd do an Ocean's 10 with the original cast sans Bernie and dedicate it to Bernie.  I honestly loved those movies.

Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood: 7.7/10

Probably slot it right behind Pulp Fiction for his 4th best. Pitt was fantastic. Wish he did more of the character parts like this/Burn After Reading.

Tarantino good with the alternate history narrative lol. As usual, could’ve chopped 20 minutes, and certain plotlines didn’t go anywhere, but overall really liked it.

Basterds is far and away my favorite. I think it’s close to a perfect movie in the way it was shot, directed, edited and acted.

Django is 2.

Those are two really good movies, IMO. I might put Django number 1, though.

That's really tough.  Django was awesome, but I'd probably put Kill BIll #1.  Tarantino is just so amazing.  Probably this generation's Scorsese.  His films are instantly recognizable, but pretty consistently unique and excellent.

I can't think of another memorable director the past 20-30 years.  OK, I guess James Cameron.
