Early showing of Shazam. Not terrible like most DC movies, not as good as Wonder Woman or Aquaman. Definitely better than BvS and JL.

5.5 or 6/10. Worth seeing but can wait until it’s on Netflix or Hulu.

Inside Man...always enjoyed this movie. Love the actors/actresses in it. 8/10

Ending is a little bit unreasonable but it's entertaining!

Just watched Rocky, Rocky 2, Rocky 3, now watching Rocky 4. I guess I'm old school or an old man.

...and I wonder about 'adults' who continue to not only post in the high school forums, but reply, repeatedly, to their own posts...again, go away

"The Sense Of An Ending" (2017) -  8/10

Just saw this on cable this morning.  The plot intrigued me, and I got sucked in, but it was worth it.

Tony, divorced man in his 70's with a 38 year-old pregnant daughter, re-lives painful memories and uncovers even more painful truths about himself and others, when he gets a letter and some money from the estate of woman he met only once - the mother of a girl he dated in college.

The story is told in a series of flashbacks, with Tony using his ex-wife and daughter as sounding boards, and his surviving college chums help him cyber-stalk and locate his old flame.   Eye-opening plot twist just before the poignant ending.

One of my favorite movies.  Love the cast and the writing.

I've been watching nothing but kids movies since my daughter has been old enough to start enjoying them, but I do have to say that I think Secret Life of Pets is enjoyable.

Agreed, that was a good one.

My youngest is now 12, so won't be watching nearly as many "kids" movies anymore. They are all 3 17-12 range, so mostly Marvel/DC movies now.

Unplanned-I am sure if anyone really wants to discuss this movie it will have to be on the Politics forum. However, movie alone...

8/10, and only lost 2 points because they had to use 2nd/3rd tier actors. They "get you hooked" in the first scene and carry the emotion throughout the movie.

I had more typed but realized it should have probably been in the politics forum...I will start a thread there.

Got around to watching City of God a couple nights ago. 10/10. I'll have to see how it holds up on future watches, but my spur-of-the-moment verdict is that it was one of the more awesome movies I've seen in a long time. Hell, the fact that it has subtitles didn't even bother me and I figured that would be a big detriment to my enjoyment.

Just watched Kill Bill 2 again...and Kill Bill 1 is playing now. Don't think I'l make it through it. I just don't go to movies. Only watch what is playing on TV.

Venom: 5/10. Half entertaining, half mess. Tom Hardy was alright in it, but I laughed at most of the dialogue.

Polar: 7/10. A poor man's John Wick. I enjoyed it a lot, but it did not stick the landing.

I agree about Venom, you could tell it was done by Fox and not Marvel/Disney, the overall quality just wasn't there. I did think Hardy did a good job, but overall I also put it in the 5 or 6/10 range.

My beef with it was that the primeval villain was fully recognized too late and dispatched too quickly.  There was so little build to it.  Annoyed the hell out of me.
