The Holiday - 8/10

Easily my favorite romcom (if you can even call it that ... it's pretty light on actual comedy).  The score by Hans Zimmer is phenomenal.  The acting is solid.  The writing is okay ... above average, but not outstanding.  All in all, I enjoy it.

Woke up late and wife is watching Grease. Chics love that movie. I’ll give it a 5 but Olivia Newton John gets a 10

You need to watch Get Out.

I just dvr'd this off of a free HBO weekend--looking forward to watching it based on a few of the comments on here regarding it.

Here's the problem with M. Night Shamalamadingdong.

His movies have gone down hill FAST over time.

Sixth Sense-10/10

Unbreakable-7 or 8/10

Signs-7/10

The Village-6/10

Lady in the Water-4/10

The Happening-negative 1 billion/10 any single person who liked this movie is a moron.

The Last Airbender-1/10

The Visit-2/10

Admittedly I haven't watched Split, mainly because of how bad his movies have been lately. I will watch it soon just to tie it into Glass as I did like Unbreakable.

You overrated The Village by 3 or so, IMO. Movies that pretend to be cool, but are super-mundane in reality, suck.

I was "ok" with the movie but it was definitely the start of Shamalamadingdong's demise. It was the last movie he made that was even a little "ok" (again, I haven't seen Split).

I could buy a 4 or 5 for it and more like a 2 or 3 for Lady in the Water, but I think I am going off the memory of when I watched them and thinking "ok, not as good as Sixth Sense but doesn't totally suck balls". Then the Happening happened and good Lord I go into every one of his movies thinking "how bad is this going to be".

The Village was the last one I paid to watch in the theatres. The rest I have waited for DVD or TV.

I actually liked the last air bender. But i'm not a fan of whatever the source is. I just watched because i like random scifi. I have friends that are huge fans and they hate the movie.

I haven't seen the other two, but I did like Michael Clayton and NCFOM.

I liked Roma. Starts a little slow, just have to hang in there and not turn it off (which I almost did).

Welcome to Marwen - 7/10

It’s just a bizzare movie and hard to grasp someone spending their life like that. But to be beaten and left for dead with no memory, I’m not gonna judge what you do with your time. Carell continues to impress outside of Comedy. I’m glad he got the chance to do so in his career.

I fell for this when someone said it about Darjeeling Limited.

I fucking hate Wes Anderson.

Same actually. I was like ok this is visually cool and the sound is amazing, but story is so-so. Then, about halfway through, especially from the riot on, the story was gripping. The entire hospital scene was moving.

Yeah it was good. 15 min in I said to myself “what the fuck did I just turn on?” But I kept watching. Ended up really, really good.

My wife watched Dumplin' a few days ago and I was sitting on the couch playing Switch and/or browsing the web. It was an okay movie. The weirdest part was Damon Pope (from Sons of Anarchy) playing a very believable drag queen. That dude can act.

For me, the hate comes from it seeming to be something I'd really like, so I got drawn in a bit...and then things lasted in a holding pattern for a while and then THE TWIST came and I was like, "WTF?!?! I WASTED A BRIEF PART OF MY LIFE ON THIS!?!?!?!" And so my hate of how it turned out completely outweighs any of the good stuff to the degree that just hearing the name of the movie pisses me off.

I figured out the "twist" well before the 1/2 way point, I mean come on, I was utterly surprised with Sixth Sense so I had my "sixth sense" up and ready for The Village.

mid90s movie: 6.5/10

Started out hilarious, well written funny & realistic dialogue. Bunch of teenagers sitting around asking dumb shit like rather suck your dads dick or eat out you mom. Got weird towards the end, and felt rushed. Lack of traditional acting started to show. Worth a watch for free, wouldn't go out of my way to see.

I probably should have, but I hadn't watched much or any of his non-Sixth Sense stuff, so I was expecting a really clever twist and not that hackneyed crap, so I do have to admit being fooled by it. Sadly, it wasn't the cool, "Whoa! That crafty bastard got one over on me!" fooled, but the "Oh, the chocolate ice cream you offered me is really shit...really...uh...funny, I guess. Asshole." kind.
