I'm not really concerned about the cost to acquire Rodgers, because I think Tomlin is going to continue to run the franchise into the ground regardless.
But, man, it would be must-see TV waiting for the inevitable tantrum. LOL, Rodgers in Matt Canada's scheme, calling those plays...He'd explode in less than a month.
How about Denver?
Local sports radio guys are fucking hyped. Same thing happened during the initial rumors. I still don’t think it’s happening.

Denver could be possible as the Packers OC just took their head coaching position.

This would be a huge splash for them but I just don't see it with their past M.O. They've lived & died through the draft. Never know though because Colbert's on the way out and their new GM might be more aggressive.

Except for that Peyton guy.

I thought he was referring to Pittsburgh.

Oh. He lives in Denver, so pretty sure local meant Broncos.

My bad. Wasn't aware. Can't keep up with the dude. One minute he's in NYC, now Denver, soon to become a Mexican citizen, etc, etc.
4 year/$200m deal....staying in Green Bay. Highest paid QB in football.
Jordan Love, we hardly knew ye...

I love Rodgers but I woulda let some team over pay me for him. $50 mil a year for an aging qb. Now they have to cut 41 mil in cap. They ain’t winning shit. Woulda Rather got some assets

This feels part payback for being jerked around with the Favre stuff years ago, and throwing out a number that would have forced a trade or release.
Instead, GB agreed to pay that number. And you're absolutely right - they were already up against the cap and this deal can't possibly get them closer to a SB.
Unless they plan to kick as much as they can down the road and spend 2-3 years in absolute cap hell after he retires.

Will be interesting to see how creative they can get as they supposedly have big interest in Von Miller and there's still that Adams guy at WR who's a FA.

Adams is Franchised.

He wasn't when I posted that. LOL
Just noticed this, yeah I was referring to Denver local radio, where Mark Schlereth is their god. lol
He had the "inside info" the first time Rodgers was a "lock" to go to Denver.
Despite giving up a ton, I'd actually prefer Wilson. Rodgers getting 50 mil/year is laughable.

It really feels like he was trying to force his way out with that demand, and GB said "well, by golly, we'll show him!!!"
But tell me you're just a frontrunning stat whore that doesn't care about another ring....
