What's everyone driving these days?

I'm almost a year into owning my 2018 Outback. It was a little contentious in the beginning as the tech package (Android Auto, in particular) was very finicky. Given that was the main reason I went 2018 over 2017 I was very annoyed. It's gotten a lot better so my complaints are very minimal now. It's a super comfortable ride, it's just a little bit underpowered. Doing it over again I would have probably went with, or at least test drove, the 6-cylinder.

I have a 2017 Tacoma, less than 10k miles on it (will be 2 years in Feb). I only drive it the 8 miles to work or when we need the bed. Wife has a 2013 year old CRV AWD that has been great for us, no issues, and what we drive the most. In another 5ish year we will need a 3rd row SUV. Big price increase between small 3rd row up to Tahoe size. Glad we have some time to think about it. Was intrigued by the new Subaru 3rd row.

2015 Fusion for the past year and couple months. Found it with only 5000 miles and had the complete package, so there was no way I could pass on essentially getting a new car for about 25% off. Took a little while to get mentally used to going from only having A/C and a CD/stereo to having all the luxury shit, but that's a fun adjustment, so it definitely worked out.

2013 Ford Fusion. I like my car a lot. I work from home so I don't put very many miles on it.

My husband drives a 1999 Camry and a 2003 Durango.

2016 Tundra. LOVE IT. Never going to consider another truck.

Wife has a 2018 Oddysey. We love that, but bought it before moving to the great white north. So, there is a little concern about the winter driving ability.

2012 Jeep Compass.

It's been paid off for about 2 years now, but I love it so much that I really don't want to let it go. Only got 43k miles on it, garage kept, too! When I finally decide to go get a brand new one, I think I'll go with another color as black gets dirty in about 2 minutes; and short of washing it every other day it always looks dusty. Whatever I get, it will be a Jeep.

With the addition of a second kid last month, we traded in my car for a 2018 Infiniti QX60. We're actually leasing which I'm very happy about. With the exception of my parents who live about 30 miles away, everything else (work, other daughter's school, in-laws) are < 10 mile drive.

I plan on driving my current car until it falls apart. It's a comfy ride and has a good tech package so I can see myself wanting to upgrade for a long time.

I work from my home office, so we sold my car, but it was a 2005 Impala.

I'm a big Jeep fan. Have had two Liberty's, a Wrangler (loved that vehicle) and now the Renegade.

BTW....can't beat not having a car payment.

A 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup for the last 13.5 years.  Bought it with 39,000 miles, now sitting at 199,000.  My only complaint has been the low mpg, but not a big issue since I retired.  I'm driving 3000 or less miles a year now.  My wife keeps telling me I need a new truck.  I don't see why.

I recently bought a 2018 Toyota Corolla iM.  I drove it about two weeks and then my wife decided she liked it so now I'm driving a 2014 Kia Sorrento.  The iM is a fun ride but a little under-powered.

I've found over the years (which included Kia, Honda, Ford and Chevy) that nothing can match the stable, weighted, balanced grip that a Jeep has. Particularly when you live in an area with nothing but hills, valleys, ridges and poor roads that I contend with.

You're right about how nice it is to not have a car payment. My next one will be cash and carry so I don't deal with finance charges and one less bill a month!

What kinda mileage does everyone get?

I typically get about 26 MPG. On my recent trip to Minnesota I got 31 MPG, which was nice.

That's how I got my current one. Much nicer that way.

Highway, around 33-34. In town, less, but I'm not 100%. 27-28 probably.

ditto, as we are too--my FIL was the head of quality assurance for Jeep for many years before retiring, so we got the big discount (which really helped!)...all told we've had at least 8 Jeep's throughout our marriage, with many Chrysler products interspersed as well
