Do any of you guys know what this springed clamp thing is called?  Its purpose to to grip the inside of a vertical pipe to hold the top of a lanyard in place.  It reminds me of a clamp that is sometimes used on the end of a barbell.  But the one I need has to be able to stretch across an 8" diameter pipe and hold into place.

Any idea on what this thing's called and where I may get one?

No idea. But show that picture to someone at a hardware store(NOT Lowe’s or HD) and I’m sure they can find it for you.

I’m going to refrain from a sophomoric comment and let a younger OCer make it.
