I'm currently on a Jason Isbell kick, I can pretty much listen to any of his albums over and over without getting sick of them.

Just went to the library, checked out Edgar Winter's "Jazzin' The Blues".  He re-does "Frankenstein" as "Frankie Swings", it's pretty interesting, and of course the drumming on there is amazing.

Listening to Justin Townes Earle and Joshua Hedley.

A song of his (Long Pine Hill) recently popped up in my Jason Isbell radio station on Google Play and I liked it a lot.

A group called Turnpike Troubadours also came up a lot and I listened to their most recent album. It was pretty damn good.

Saw Justin Townes Earle at 31 West in Newark. I liked his father's music and started listening to him. Really kiing this style of music. Turnpike was in Newark also and they were very good. Another band that is getting some notice and they are from Columbus is Angela Perley and the Howling Moons.

Mostly the usuals...Chevelle, Highly Suspect, Rise Against, A Day to Remember. But I'm seeing Nothing More in a few weeks so I've been listening to them a lot as well.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise is a band I found last year that I think a lot of people on here would probably like.

Just found out my favorite musician (Leroy Powell) is releasing a new album with his latest project (Whiskey Wolves of the West) on March 2nd. I've been waiting for this album release for almost 2 years.

This album was released recently, and it's very good.

The last few weeks, listening to Hamilton Loomis, his "Basics" CD.

Weird turn of events how that came to pass - it started because my wife decided last year she wanted to learn to play harmonica.  Mr. Loomis came into town from Texas last fall to hold a beginner's harp seminar, and then he and his band played in Columbus six weeks ago, and we bought the CD.  Great stuff, and he's a great live performer also.

From the album I mentioned above, this is my favorite song. It was described as an "unrequited love song" to the CIA by the lead singer. Who knew a song about waterboarding could be so good?

Amazon music recommended I listen to Post Malone yesterday. The album name was interesting (beerbongs & bentleys) so I gave it a listen. Not bad.

Ours was Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat by accident. I told our band to play I'm Yours, but they played the wrong song, because Lucky was super popular at the time. The first time my wife and I ever heard the song was for our first dance.

This would have been my next choice for a first dance. Technically it was my top choice, but my wife preferred Jason Mraz.
