I figured I'd make a thread to reflect back on the current decade. Here are a few question you can answer, feel free to add more.

How many times did you change jobs? Are you happier at your job than you were in 2010?

How many times did you move?

Any major life events? Marriage, kids, etc?

What was the most notable thing that happened to you over the course of the decade?

Graduated with an associates (2012) and bachelors (2014). Married in 2013, daughter born in 2014 and son in 2018. Bought a house in 2013 and still live there today. 
 

In 2010 I was pretty lost in school. Couldn’t really find anything I liked. I was just kind of overall wandering through life. But eventually got it figured out and ten years later I’m very happy with my job. Looking forward to a quieter decade. No more school in the foreseeable future. All done with kids. My son will be 11 and daughter 15 by the end of the 2020s so that will be a huge change from diapers and Frozen to middle/high school and dating and driving. 
 

And can’t forget Cavs champs 2016. 

All 3 kids obtained bachelor’s degrees, one of them about to finish doctor of pharmacy school; and we survived without having you and other taxpayers bear the cost burden.

On the downside I lost both parents, my pup of 15 years, and this will be the first Christmas ever without a parent, aunt or uncle still alive.  I guess I’m no longer on deck, but at the plate.

Sorry about your parents.  My are getting up there and I find myself getting depressed sometimes thinking about losing them.  A total waste of time I know, but what can you do.  I hope you can enjoy some of their memories this year.  

The 2010s were pretty good for me. 

My wife and I made it through the entire decade unscathed.
I (voluntarily) bounced around a couple places for work but landed at a spot I plan to be at for a long time.
Both of our dogs we got in 2008 are still alive and kicking, though one of them is on several medications that are running us close to $200/month.
We added a third dog to our pack in 2013 and he's still with us.
We moved from our first house to a better spot for us, though this is just temporary. We plan to move to our final residence early in the 2020s.

I moved to NYC on a whim without a job in the fall of '09 and I'm still here. That's definitely my biggest/most notable accomplishment. When I came here I just said "fuck it", because I was running out of job options in Ohio. On my 4th job here. 7 years, 1.5 years, 1 year, 3 months and ongoing. This is my best by far in all aspects. 

4 different apartments. 

I've become an uncle and now live with my gf. First time living with a SO. It's been good, but challenging.

Got my first job in October of ‘09. Changed to a diff company doing the same thing in 11, changed to my current job in 2014... currently fucking hate it and looking for a new one.

Moved from Greensboro to Cleveland to Charleston. Multiple places but have been in our first house now for 5 years. 
 

Basically all major life events happened. Married in 2015, first girl in Feb 18 and new girl in Sept 19. We just spent 6 nights in the PICU at the local children’s hospital with the 3 month old (respiratory infection). It was awful, but thank goodness we are home now.

Not sure what my most notable thing would be.

Been through 3 jobs and 3 careers over the past 10 years. I started at a DC Think Tank before moving over to a Defense Contractor and finally where I am now, at a Construction/ Infrastructure firm. It's been a pretty steady climb the last 10 years. I've been happy, mostly, in all my jobs. 

I moved three times, from Silver Spring, MD, to Rockville, MD to now Frederick, MD. I am the happiest where I am now living, away, mostly, from the DC Beltway shit. Frederick is a good medium size town away from the noise and annoying parts a big city. 

I moved in with my now wife and we got married five years ago down in New Orleans. That's probably the most notable thing that happened. We eloped down there and then came back, told all the friends and family and had 3 good size parties. 

Also, this year, the wife and I finally made the decision that we will be moving back to the motherland and Ohio next year. That is a decision that has been in the works for a while, we were just waiting on certain things to line up and they are finally starting to. 

It's been a pretty good 10 years and am actually excited to move into the 2020s.

Sorry about your parents.  My are getting up there and I find myself getting depressed sometimes thinking about losing them.  A total waste of time I know, but what can you do.  I hope you can enjoy some of their memories this year.

Since 2010....

Married.

Moved twice. 

Joined the military.

Changed jobs once.

I am much, much better off today than I am in 2010. I have an actual career and now in my second house which sits about 200 years from the lake so I am happy.

This decade will surely be the biggest of my life.

In order:

Met my future wife in undergrad, were accepted into the same professional school, were on campus for Kentucky's championship (and an Elite 8, two Final 4s, and a runner-up), matched into our top residency program choices, graduated with doctorates, got married, got a dog, moved across the country, got another dog, Cavs won a championship, Indians went to World Series, finished residency, got great jobs post-training (moved across the country again), got my dream job (moved across the country again, this time to my ideal state), bought a house.

Nothing has really changed for me. 

Same Job, same house, same Wife...

2009 was a different story. Found a great place called Free Huddle. Wonder what ever became of that place. 

Guess the best thing I did was go all in on the 2015 All-Star festivities in Cincy

Was in row 6 of LF for Todd Frazier winning one of the best HR Derby’s ever. It was also the first year for the 4 min format.

Next night sat just off of RF line and watched them bring out Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Johnny Bench and Sandy Koufax

Started an entry level job in 2010, have been promoted quite a few times since then and still with them.  I now oversee all operations on the east coast, which is a great spot for someone who just turned 31.

Married in 2014, divorced in 2017.  Still recovering but I'm alive.

This whole decade thing is crazy!  I did more with my life between the ages of 35-45 than I did from 18-35!

I did my duty with pride, Godfather.  Now, I rest.

• Started my first job in late 2009 (so, basically started my career in 2010).
• Met wife in 2012
• Moved to NC in 2013 for new job, same industry
• Married in 2015
• Moved back to Midwest -- Chicago -- in 2018, same company by remote
• Had kid in May of this year
• Started taking classes for IT certifications 3 months ago, have passed both tests thus far with 6 more to go

Crazy decade to say the least. I love my career, but am not compensated well enough and its starting to piss me off. Decided to go the IT route, since I have an above entry level knowledge from working in Television for over a decade. I've also achieved both things I set out to do in this field; win a National Sports Emmy (5) & work a Super Bowl (3). So, time to move on.

It's been a solid decade.

Met my future husband in 2012. He bought a house and we moved in together in 2013, engaged in 2015 and married in 2016. About to finish up the last major house project (kitchen) in about 3 weeks. He also owns a rental property. 

Two of my brothers got married. Four nieces and a nephew were born, with one more on the way in early 2020.

Traveled a bunch - five cruises, three baseball trips (Boston, Chicago, Philly/New York), Naples, Denver/Estes Park, Asheville, South Dakota/Wyoming, Arizona x 4, Vegas x 2. Probably some more I'm forgetting. 

Went to the Indy 500 four times. Went to hundreds of Indians games, plus every All-star event this past summer. Tailgated for every Browns home game for several years. Went to dozens of concerts, including 10 Rock on the Range/Sonic Temple shows and Billy Joel (😍).

Basically did almost every fun thing I wasn't able to do when I was broke in my early 20s, and have no ragrets. Interested to see how the next decade shakes out. We'd like to buy more rentals. We're hoping to go on a trip to Egypt and Jordan in 2021, and should probably think about starting a family since my eggs are gonna expire. 🤷🏼‍♀️

A lot happened here for me too. I started pursuing my "career" in fall 2009, so most of the important stuff happened from then on.
