Who all has seen it?

I personally liked it.  Some parts really dragged on.  I hated the Leia force pull back to the ship.  I hated Laura Dern being casted as purple hair character.  LOVED the Ren/Rey/Snoke battle scene.  Loved the salt planet battle scene.

While I only have a couple gripes, I really liked it, and I realize that it's a damn movie, and it's only there for entertainment purposes.

Luke dies.

I have never been a fan of Star Wars (up until last year I only had seen the original 3 and it was a loooooooong time ago).  With that said, my one friend (litterally my only friend) wanted to go to the one last year with his son and my sons so I went.  It was okay.

Naturally they think it's something we do together now, so I went Friday night to see this new one with he and my sons again.

Although I didn't know the characters for the most part or a lot of the back story, I enjoyed it - it was entertaining.  And the last jedi girl is smoking hot.

That is all.

I also hated the Leia force pull. That was ridiculous. And if a ship jumping to light speed can do so much damage, why didn't they have one of the first order ships jump to light speed to take out the last rebellion ship? Or have a rocket that can jump to light speed and take out everything in front of them?

The jokes at the beginning where Poe pretended he couldn't hear admiral Hux was pretty stupid.

Anakin/Luke/Kylo are all whiny bitches. I will be glad when we are done with them.

I don't buy that Luke could see the good in Darth Vader all those years ago when nobody else could, but then he sees darkness in his nephew and he decides to take a light saber to him.

I thought Snoke died fairly easily.

My favorite part had to be when Luke came out of the fortress and the first order just blasted the shit out of him, and then he stepped out and brushed off his shoulder.

I thought the porgs were going to be more important and i loled when chewy was eating them.

I did like the movie and i think they are doing a decent job of moving on from old characters to new so they can keep the story going.

I like it, but then started thinking about some of the holes and now I am not sure I like it as much.  I will have to watch it again.

-Leia pulling herself to the ship was fucking ridiculous.

-Wtf was the point of building up Snoke and just killing him fairly easily?  He was powerful enough to connect Rey and Kylo, but then he is killed easily? lol ok.  Also, I wanted to know his story.  Where the fuck did he come from?  Why wasn't he around during episodes 4-6?  Now we are left with no true powerful villain imo.  We are left with a whiny bitch Kylo who has already lost a battle to Rey.

-I already said this, but Kylo is a little bitch.  Was disney trying hard to relate him to a petulant cry baby millenial?

-Finn and the Asian girl's storyline was completely useless.  There was no point in that storyline other than to give a lot of screen time to Finn and an Asian girl.  Wtf did that story even do for the main plot of the movie?  WTF is the point of even having Finn at this point?

-Why didn't Laura Dern's character tell Poe the plan from the beggining?  I don't see the point in hiding her grand plan when they could have left the ship much sooner.

Seriously. And then they act like it was no big deal that he led a mutiny.

I think they opened the door there to a bigger story later about war profiteering. Kind of like in the clone wars when Sidious was playing both sides. Or maybe it was just an anti war statement. I didn't hate it but i hope they do something with it later.

It's fucking star wars.  GTFO with this anti war shit Disney.

Also, was there no damage done to the first oder after the force awakens and their Starkiller Base was destroyed? It's like that was just a small chip in their armour.

Leia using force to come back to ship was the dumbest thing since Jar Jar Binks. But, that was really my only big gripe with it.

I didn't particularly like how slow the plot seemed to move in this film...I feel like they never really resolved anything from the opening scene to the end. The Resistance is still running from the Empire. Really, not much changed from the beginning. Rey learning a bit more about he Force was something, but not really explored in depth.

The Snope/Ren/Rey light saber scene was great and the scene of the movie. Overall, good action, good characters, but not a lot happened. Still way better than the prequels, but behind TFA and Rogue 1, imo.

Agree with all of it.  With the Finn thing I believe they did it to add an additional ethnic group.

I think they tried too hard to keep Leia alive.....meaning we all expected her to die since Carrie died and imthink they tried too hard to fool the audience.  They scene was retarded.

I swore I saw something, or someone, run away atmthe base of the pedestal when luke died but will check the second viewing.

All in all....good movie and I am glad They did something fresh as TF

0A was just a recycle.

I looked it up afterwards but bb8 beeped the famous I have a bad feeling about this line.

At times They tried to have too many twists.    They like Johnson so well they gave him a full trilogy

I have that it was a recycle, but still thought it was the better movie.

I wouldn't be shocked if he was lying to her, but if it's true they have finally broken away from telling the story of the Skywalkers. Now anyone can be a hero.

Anyone can be a Jedi was sort of the theme.    I did see Rey saved those Jedi books before the tree burned.   So many have grown up and the,sky walker name drovemthe series.      Rey had visions holding the lightsaber in TFA so I'm not sold she isn't related

Prior to the Skywalkers, all of the Jedi were gathered as children from around the universe. Force sensitivity was not passed on genetically. I can see it going either way.

Just saw the movie and enjoyed it very much.  Now I'm going to start at the top (where it says "Luke dies"), actually read all of the posts and then make comments later.

And now I'm back.

Starting with the OP simply saying "Luke dies".  It was like you just started the thread so you could say that.

Snoke dying "fairly easily": I agree, yet enjoyed it very much.

Luke getting smoked by the firepower and walking out of it: I liked it very much, too.

Like_that commenting on Finn and the Asian girl and Dern not sharing the plan: I agree.

thevoice saw something run away on the rock where Luke passed on: I saw him disappear from his cloak and then the wind blew his cloak off the rock from right to left.

And thevoice saying "Anyone buying who Ren said Rey's parents were?"..............I watched the movie with my son and I had the same question.  My son said what FatHobbitt said that The Force was not passed on genetically.

My favorite quotes:

"The greatest teacher, failure is."

Luke: Where are you from?  Rey: Nowhere.  Luke: Nobody's from nowhere.  Rey: Jakku (a lot of us Ohioans can just substitute where we live here).  Luke: Yeah, that's pretty much nowhere.

Agreed with the above, also the inference that she loves Finn after ~8 hours with him...LMFAO.

As for your last point, completely agree. Talk about shitty leadership. They also used this same shitty plot device with Luke's "battle" with bitchboy Ren at the end. Finn or flyboy (forget who, probably flyboy) had an epiphany, OH NO wait, luke WANTS us to escpae now, not defeat the bad guys. LOLWTF? If that was the master fucking plan, why not say it? Why is he playing scategories with their fucking lives? So dumb.

I finally watched it today. Like that pretty much covered all of my points.

I just don't really care for Rey. There is just something about her. Snot, do you really find her to be hot??
