Taking a break on Parks and Rec, funny but not hilarious so far (late in season 2).

I think it really starts firing on all cylinders when Chris and Ben (Rob Lowe and Adam Scott) show up late in season 2.

Haven't got to Robe Lowe yet, Louis CK just moved out of town, so maybe halfway through season 2? roughly, lol.

So far Chris Pratt isn't nearly as funny as I thought he would be.

Thoughts on the latest true detective episode? That final scene with older Hays and Roland was incredible.

I still think Amelia is involved somehow. I’m starting to convince myself that she’s the killer.

So I watched the Netflix Fyre doc. My only question after all of it, is how in the hell did JaRule get off scot-free? He’s the only guy who had any real money.

This gem was apparently his defense.

You know it got real when the one guy said he was heading to the Bahamas customs office to give a blow job to the agent just to get their water released...because they didn't have the money.

Ja Rule has zero dollars.  Murder INC record label which owns the rights to all of his songs was just bought at Auction by 50 cent for $50,000.  The IRS took all of Ja Rules money and property for tax evasion.

Oh shit. I hadn’t no idea.

Also, he really can’t claim he didn’t know anything. He says in the doc “it wasn’t fraud, it was false advertising”.

10 Feb (10pm) and 17 Feb (1030pm) HGTV is airing two episodes of Island Life on the lake that I moved to last summer.  Both episodes they follow around a family looking for a house on the lake.

They were here two years ago with 2 episodes and apparently it went well enough to do more.

Last summer they secretly rent a house for a couple of weeks and do the filming around town.

Should be interesting.  Of course, we didnt buy like these folks likely did but being 50 yards from a channel and 150 yards from the lake itself is very peaceful and a blast. In the winter it is deserted!

If you like time travel stuff, Gut suggested 12 Monkeys to me.  I was hesitant at first, but it really grew on me.

Depending on how GoT finishes, 12 Monkeys is my #1 or #2 show.  Love everything about it, and was hooked by the second or third show.  But that first season is a bit rough, for some.  I know you struggled to get into it.

Best written show I've ever seen.  Flawless.  It's so brilliant, even writers and actors disagree or aren't sure how it ended (which isn't to say the ending is not satisfying or confusing).  I'll watch it a third time some time soon, and I rarely re-watch anything.  There are insignificant, throw-away lines and events from the first shows that connect all the way thru to the end.

Dark season 1 is probably better than 12 Monkeys season 1.  But I'll be amazed if Dark can sustain that, much less rise to the levels 12 Monkeys scales in following seasons.  It has everything, every theme...and does it all extremely well.  Although I really like the actors and acting, if you're going to knock the show that's where it's not perfect.  Very much GoT in that regard, where you have some brilliant supporting actors but the main are not as strong.

Only real negative I would say is 12 Monkeys kind of abuses the bootstrap paradox, and especially in the last season veers a good bit into science fantasy.  The former is a big turn-off for a lot of people on time travel, and the latter is its own turn-off for a lot more people.

Ugh. I hate when shows abuse the bootstrap paradox.

It is nuts. Had friend who was on there from Columbus. Fi.med in July, aired in like Feb.

They are not supposed to say the outcome until it airs. This family have viewing parties at local places in Columbus. They went all 5 days and won the car, but took the cash option which I think he said was 24K

Definitely not a show for you then.  I think ETB got a bit frustrated with that.

I truly hated You, but yes I'll still watch the 2nd season.

I also finished Sex Education and loved the whole thing.

Second episode of Island Life about lake aired last night.   Pretty neat.

This past week and for a few more days they are having ice boat races on the lake...pretty cool to watch.  People from as far as New Zealand are racing in it.

Just started the last episode of season 2 of 12 Monkeys. How is there 2 more seasons of this show? Seems like this could easily be the last episode of the series.

Watched 1st episode, have a few more downloaded ready to go, just haven't pulled the trigger.

Watching Firefly (well, done with first episode now), not sold on it yet but will give it a try (only 1 season and a movie, so won't take that long).
