For all youthful invincible type on the OC take heed, you’re not.

Those hurt knees, dislocated thumbs, bursitis shoulder, sprained ankles, concussion, broken bones, knife wounds, bullet/ shrapnel and all the other physical injuries you’ve suffered ….they come back in some form or another.

What injury have you suffered, at time you can feel the effect of that ill-fated day.

I've got a lingering wrist injury that took a while to heal, and still rears it's head every once in a while. It doesn't really hurt anymore, but it does start to get uncomfortable when I do certain lifts (clean and jerks, mostly). I've also started to get a nagging knee injury during softball season. Luckily it doesn't hurt when I work out, so I only have to deal with it a few months during the year. I'm going to buy a knee sleeve before this season starts to see if that helps.

I've been walking around with a cracked disc in my lower back for 15 years from a pro wrestling injury. Also have some kind of issue with the vertebrae in my neck. Doctor told me I'm staring down the barrel of an eventual double knee replacement (currently bone on bone).

No major injuries or chronic pain yet, but I'm sure the day is coming.

I have pain everyday. I had one knee replaced and the other repaired a few times. I had shoulder surgery twice. Ankle worked on once. Carpal tunnel on both hands. I have back issues the doc wants to do surgery on but I have put it off for a long time cause I dont want to have surgery. I keep hoping a better surgery will come out for it anytime. But I can thank myself for most of it for being stupid as a kid/young adult.

Put off the back as long as possible. I went into my former accountant about 5 years ago and I hadn't seen him in a couple of years. When I went into his office I couldn't look him in the eye. I was like "WTF did they do to you?"

He had back surgery and they botched it BADLY. To describe it, his legs were normal but as soon as you got to his waist, his torso bent and it was parallel to the floor. He looked like an upside down "L." He has since passed away and I have to wonder if it was expedited by the painkillers he probably had to take. Not to sound like a dick but they pretty much turned the guy into what looked like a sideshow freak.

I fell and broke my collarbone/shouder in 3 places back in 2010. I've got a cadaver tendon holding it together. It's in constant pain. Sometimes I feel it more than others, but it really never goes away and I guess my mind makes me ignore it at times.

I tore my PCL and Minniscus back in 2008, still deal with some knee pain from that on & off. In terms of management, I have essentially tennis elbow in my right arm from my computer heavy job. I wear an arm band that pushes down on the tendon to help keep it in check. When it's bad, it can be debilitating.

Tore minniscus cartilage in my knee in high school (1970).  Bothers me off and on....right now it is swollen and stiff....still running on it, though.

I have had a lot of injuries but it is the emotional pain that really hurts. It is what really comes back and stays with you.
