Dark - a show he puts in the top-5 all-time after 1 season, and one not even on the radar of the top-5 of its subgenre.

I ranked it in MY TOP 5.  Jesus.  You take it so fucking personal that I don't like your stupid show (as much) as I like my stupid show.  You are not an idiot for disliking Dark (compared to 12M).  You're an idiot b/c of the bolded.

For the good of the order, 12M is picking up.

Sucks that they're not even going to begin filming Season 2 until June 25.  Would make it obviously fitting were it to air in 2019.

No, I always said I liked Dark.  It could be great, I'm just in wait-n-see mode.

Truce.....I'm excited to see you're take on 12M because, frankly, hardly anyone has watched it.

Syfy rankings are all over the place.  But the source material is very similar.   Although I do get why someone might like Dark better.   But I'm confident if you love one, you'll love the other.  Fortunately for your paradox addiction, series finale of 12M will air this summer.

Enough.....This is a thread about Dark.  Start a 12 Monkey thread if you like [but obviously I have nothing to say]/

The sub-genre doesn't get the ratings.  Saw a blurb where, I think, SyFy hasn't had a single series go beyond 5 years.

For example, "Timeless" is a good, enjoyable show....one for the mainstream masses.....but more entertaining than great.

5 Seasons is long enough, in my opinion.  In 2018, with binge watching being the way to watch TV, people get too impatient.  I'm not saying that is a good thing, but it is what it is.  I honestly would like to see a lot more shows set up as mini-series.  Peaky Blinders being 6 episodes per season is not a bad idea, but I think it would be great if they could, say, film 4 seasons, and release them each quarterly throughout the year.  Year is over, series over.

Star Trek TNG and Voyager both went over 5 seasons. But you’re right, most sci-fi don’t last that long.

Stargate SG1 went for 10 seasons. I thing SG Atlantis was 7 (may have been 5...)

Bringing this back up. Haven’t seen the second season yet, but those who have can freely post here while the rest of us catching up can go to TV Thread without fear lol.

I'm halfway through  and love it so far.

The twist of Adam is great at the end of ep. 4.

The whole series reminds me so much of Twin Peaks in that I think I know what is going on, but at times I have no idea what is going on.

Just read the other day that Dark was cancelled by Netflix.

I finished Season 2 last night. I greatly enjoyed it. It was a great mix of Lost and Back to the Future. I won't go into too much detail, but man, this was a deep watch. It was still hard to follow who is who and when they are.

I also had to read about the Bootstrap Paradox, which explains some aspects of the show.

The bootstrap paradox is definitely mind boggling.

Trying no to read anything in the thread. I just saw there is a season 3 and I've yet to watch season 2. I'll probably start watching through season 2 this week.

It's not that they turned part of the story on it's head, but the attention to detail and the lengths they went to in doing so.

Oh yeah. I have to take a few minute break after each episode to process everything.

I’ll be starting my end of S2 rewatch this week. No way can I jump in without that.

I finished Season 3 last night. I will say it ties things in a bow quite nicely. I was impressed how easily this did that in the last 1.5 episodes. A montage at the end of episode 7 does a good job at filling in some details over seasons 1 and 2. And episode 8 starts with a hell of an info dump that makes it all make sense.

My brain still hurts, but man, what a great show. It pulls off an insanely complex story quite nicely.

Just finished the series. Fucking awesome.

I'll probably re-watch the series in a month or two while everything is relatively fresh. I jumped right into season two after watching season one over two years ago and had forgotten a few events from the first season. I think some things will click a little easier the second time through.
