After watching the new Netflix movie A Futile and Stupid Gesture I've been fascinated with the story behind National Lampoon. I know we've got a lot of old guys on here, any of you remember the magazine (and radio, movies, etc) from the heyday? It's a shame Doug Kenney died so you, he was one of the all-time great minds of comedy.

I may have read it a few times, but the subtleties escaped me back then.  I did buy the "Greatest Hits" record album many years ago, mostly because Q-FM 96 frequently played the Mister Rogers parody (Mister Roberts).

When I was in high school, someone brought in their high school yearbook parody, the photos were pretty funny  Me and my buddies on the track team liked the picture of a student on the ground with a javelin sticking out of their back, and the one with a shot-putter hitting someone on the foot.

I read the magazine off and on. I was more into their comedy records and of course they brought us the movie Animal House and the Vacation series.
