First thing I thought of
Immediately thought of Will Smith in FPOBA. As someone who was adopted (way different circumstances — my birth mom was pregnant at 14 lol) it hits me every-time.
I’ll add in 2 from “Boy Meets World” — the show that shaped my youth.

- When Eric finally gets into college and his dad, Allen, says, “I’ve never been more proud of you.”
- When Allen yells at Shaun for influencing Corey (getting drunk) when it was the other way around. Later in episode he apologizes and explains he was under the influence of alcohol at the time (because his son was drunk) and then tells Shaun he is, and always has been, a part of their family.

I grew up with Boy Meets World, and embarrassingly cried at least a few times. When Mr Turner gets in an accident, when Chet dies, and I’m sure there is more here Mr feenee killed me
I remember this one… I disagree with a bunch of people saying saved by the bell Jessie episode. It was sad but not that sad.

Didn’t mean to laugh at the age, btw. The lol was for it being a little different than getting adopted by your uncle cause you get in fights in west Philly lol.
Boy Meets World has some good ones. I’ll go with S6E18 where Eric wants to adopt a kid he was a big brother to. The episode doesn’t have an overwhelmingly sad moment but the whole thing is tough to watch because you know it’s not going to work out for Eric.

The Jesse scene wasn’t even sad. She was just an idiot. Needed to pick a bigger drug to hammer the emotions they were going for.

My favorite show of all time is Scrubs. It was definitely a comedy that had its share of sad and serious moments, but none harder to take than this one.
I was not a regular watcher of the show, but ER had an episode in it's first season called "Love's Labor Lost" about a woman and her baby who both died during childbirth. Never saw a show that hit me in the feels like that episode.
Fresh Prince clip was the first one I thought of as well.
I also thought of the ending of the Wonder Years. It is sad, happy, and serious. I was surprised how emotional I got at the time, and even now it hits me.

The last episode of The Wonder Years definitely brings the feels, as someone who grew up watching that show every week with my whole family.
I got daddy issues so the Fresh Prince episode is at the top for sure.
I just saw the Fresh Prince episode last month, agreed it had quite an impact. I'm sure it would have hit me harder seeing it at a younger age.
For me it was watching General Savage's B-17 go down in a death spiral at the start of the second season of "12 O'Clock High" - that was the fall of 1965 for you whippersnappers.. 12OCH was my show in first grade, and Savage was my hero. I kept turning to my father and saying "He won't die, will he?", and Dad didn't say anything.
I still watched the show afterward, but it was never the same.
How I Met Your Mother season finale scene. Not super sad or serious but just really well done in my opinion.
Sons of Anarchy has a few scenes that are tough to watch. Opie's death. Jax and his mom's final scene.
The announcement of Henry Blake's death in MASH.
