🤔 Wondering what Glavine rookie is $90? What Thome for $100? The typical Glavine rookies (Topps/Donruss/Fleer) are about $5....even professional grading and perfect can be bought for about $30. Thome’s are about 3 years later and a lot more cards so there could be a card or two I’m not sure about. Vast majority of his rookies are under $10

When I price cards, I search on ebay, and filter by sold items. That gives you actual prices people have paid.

Wonder if I was looking at “for sale” price and not sold?? I’ll post the actual cards tonight.

The Thome one is a double picture with Ryan Klesko.

I searched so damn many individual cards recently. So many different sites come up. Some are way high. Every now and then the Beckett value will show up and it’s typically the lowest price until you get to cards pre 1987 it seemed. After a while 3 or 4 common sites would come up consistently if continue down page. Krozo was one and pretty close with Beckett. The EBay stuff you gotta be real careful on those ones. You see $59 cards with 99 cent bids and you see $3 cards with $35 bids lol. Amazon often pops up early with a quite overvalued number. Several card shops come up as well and some were going for big profit and bigger ones and pretty similar pricing....the more I searched the more I could find the truer value. Dean’s cards were great for older cards but he has them in many different grades and a little over priced but the graded cards hold higher value (ones with high grades or pre 1980 cards)....the old cards in great shape of big players are worth big money. I might send away my 1969 Seaver because it’s the best shape older card I have. I have it worth around $120 but a high grade 8 or higher throws it $500+

Finished 27 pages of an album (front and back of pages) Didn’t use valuable cards but it looks damn good. Used only my HOF cards.

I’ve never thought of this, mostly because I knew I didn’t have any cards worth much. But a HOF album is a pretty cool idea. Might throw in the “steroid era HOFers” at the end. Bonds, Sosa, Manny, Raffy, Schilling, Sheffield and Clemens are the ones I have the most of.

Man, this has me digging into all the old stories my grandfather used to tell me about baseball he played and watched.  He played in the minor leagues and actually played with a few guys who ended up with careers in the big leagues.  One of their pitchers is ... I believe ... even in Cooperstown, but I don't remember who.

I used to go to sleep to bedtime stories about those guys.  It was awesome.

In my HOF sorting I did add: Rose, Bonds, Clemens, McGwire and Arod

I have another box of cards with just: Manny Ramirez, Palmeiro, Sosa, Sheffield, McGriff, Schilling cards.....basically awaiting the HOF call eventually. Also have Tommy John and Jim Kaat if they ever get in. Once I found out Jack Morris made it....it was easy to find his cards to put in my HOF assortment of boxes (now completely sorted and alphabetized with #of cards each)......I need to go back through everything at some point for my 10 or so Ted Simmons cards smh.
