I moved to my current house back in March and have not seen or talked to my neighbors on the right. All I know is they have a large white dog.....

That sounds like me in my first house when I moved on a December many years ago.  Was single, working nights with little social life at the time - just hibernated the first 4 or 5 months.

Turned out I bought the house from a guy who worked with my father.  The guy told him, "Hey, I called my old neighbors to see how your son was doing in his new place.  They said they never see him, just see his car come out of the garage once a day, and his dog in the yard once in a while...... "

I did get to know them after a while, all of them were nice family folks.
