I’m not being political, but what else have you seen going up lately? I do the majority of our grocery shopping and holy shit, today when I went everything was at least 20 cents more. A head of lettuce used to be .99 and is now 2.19 for example. Among other things.

A while back I noticed my coffee went from 12oz to 10oz per bag, for the same price (of course).

And saw an article just a few days ago how a lot of items like that are subtly shrinking.  That's been the case with potato chips for years - they claim the extra air keeps the chips from getting smashed, but obviously that's a lie.

I think I’ve mentioned it before, but the 10 pound bag of ice for 1.99 is now 7 pounds.

And yes I know I should just get our broken freezer fixed but I think I’ll still spend less on ice instead of getting it fixed.

My icemaker broke a year ago.  $200 for the replacement part, and it didn't look like something I felt I could do myself.  Anyway, $200 is a lot for ice.

I got a pack of 20 silicone/gel cubes that actually work pretty well.  I even throw them in the dishwasher occasionally.  I also got a couple of trays that make cocktail-style cubes that are pretty great.

It’s not air inside the chip bag. It’s pure nitrogen to keep the chips from going stale (oxygen does that) during shipping/storage.

Not being a smart ass just more FYI in case people didn’t know.

Most foods/drinks are packaged in either nitrogen, carbon dioxide, or a combination of the 2.

Most red meat is packaged in what is called a 3 gas mixture of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide (no worries, ppm levels).

The monoxide helps preserve the red color, nothing else.

Everything in the store is a bit higher. Portion sizes have been shrinking for a good while.

Lunch meat at Kroger is like $11.99 a lb but I have a smaller local place we get it for $7.99-$8.49

I heard someone saying they paid $16 for a pound of corned beef…..not up my alley but wow lol.

I need to check on PopTarts….they have been $1.99-$2.29 for almost 30 years.

Lawn mowers are way up…which seems dumb

Is the ice maker a Samsung?  They have had a huge issue and are fixing them for free

LOL, I wish.  Frickin' $2500 Bosch (it was there when I bought the place)...and the other sad thing is the tension on the ice shoot was too high and never allowed ice to drop freely into your glass.  Plus, the water comes out so slow, and not very cold, I finally just bought a big pitcher with a filter.  And now that I think about it, milk often goes bad early.

I can't imagine a more pathetic review.  If I ever buy a fridge, I'll know what to look for!

Even cat food. I buy Friskie's Pate wet food for my cats and when I open the can there isn't as much. Screwing over man & beast.

At least you can buy cat food.  In Cincinnati we had to buy a completely different kind of dog food because ours was sold out.  Thankfully my dog has an iron stomach and can handle switching.

Creeping up on $150 to fill my truck.  When I accelerate to pass someone I feel like I am pushing three quarters into a slot.

I’ve knocked it back a few mph since it went above $4. I’m noticing a few also slowing down a bit but for the most part….everyone in their $65,000 SUV’s and $74,000 trucks are still flying to no end. Only difference I’ve noticed is they take a pic at the pump total and complain on FB.

I traveled a bunch this week on Rt 32 and Rt 23….both are 60 mph listed 4 lane highways. I set the cruise on 62 mph and so far have went 351 miles on my wife’s Acura on the $50 I put into it last Sunday. Most seem to be going 67-72 as a guess. I would’ve needed gas 50 miles ago but instead I arrive 5 min after I would have.

I feel gas will either come back down a decent bit (under $4) or trucks will become cheaper OR cars will come back from trending towards extinction (around here anyways)

My Accord is sitting on 303,000 miles and still hitting 34 mpg……hope it keeps hanging on

Our dog is very old.  We got her when all my children were still in elementary school.  Never did I think my grandchildren would be playing with her.  When it comes to dog food its moist and meaty or what the fuck is this shit.  Unless its people food.  She is beside herself when I pull pork.

Don't have FB....and I only take a pic if I'm expensing it.

It's pretty sparse on the local shelves for both dog & cat food. Sometimes I'll just order from Chewy.

We’re going to Nags Head. I’m familiar with Rodanthe though as I went to rent a kayak and a bike for my daughter to use while there and the place said they wouldn’t deliver south of Rodanthe. I had to look up where it was to be sure. Fun fact.
