Hot or cold showers?

I've seen plenty of articles over the years of the health benefits of cold showers, and every time I think I'm going to give it a try. After the first attempt I quickly back down and go back to fully hot showers.

Anyone take cold showers? Have you noticed any improvements in health and well being?

Cold showers are for psychotics

Generally its a hot shower in the morning.  On the weekends if I do a lot of hard work i will take a hot shower but end it with cool shower.  In the summer after hard labor working in the yard, spliting wood, gardening in the heat of the day it alway refreshing to take a cool type shower. It seems that I have less muscle soreness.

Note; When I get Migraines I do the hot and cold shower on the back of my neck and head. "hot/coldimmersion therapy", painful but for me somewhat of a relief

Warm shower for me. It doesn't have to be hot just not cold.

The benefits in the mens health article was hardly scientific, and completely ancedotal. "I got my morning back", lol what the fuck is that? You taking 90 min showers dude?

In general, the human body is an amazing machine that is really adaptable. In the summers I generally take cold showers, esp if camping, as it can get hot AF, they're fine but I don't notice any super human abilities afterwards.

I don't have to mentally prepare for the day like bad ass Jocko Willink and live in a first world country, so I'll take a warm to hot shower, the last minute or so, I'll cool the water down so I'm not sweating prior to the towel.

Hot and......hot.   even when it's 120 plus a warm shower still feels look.

I'd probably gain 5-6 minutes each morning if I cranked the water temp down. Granted, that's a far cry from "getting my morning back" but it would be nice.

The biggest draw to me right now is how dry my skin gets in the winter. Cold showers are supposed to help that.

That makes sense, but I just have my wife put lotion on my back. That’s really the only thing that dries out.

Hottest showers possible for me. I look like a lobster afterward, but I don't care. I get dry skin in the winter, but I use good body lotion/cream/butter and am good to go.

If I spend a bunch of money on pink or purple hair, I'll wash and rinse in cool water, but the rest of my shower is still hot.

The trendy folks touting cold showers in the winter must be the same ones who advise hot showers in the summer to "cool you off".   I've had friends who swear it's true.  Yeah, right.  I did it once one summer morning before work, and I was still sweating 2 hours after I got to my office.  Miserable.  Never again.

Warm shower in the winter (with a minute or two of hot at the end), and cool-to-cold showers in the summer.  The logical way.  The right way.

Hot water to sun exposure adds to the condition.
