Used to when my grand parents and parents were alive. Now we have none. For a few years now my sister has been making pasta for Christmas events. Maybe she's trying to start another one.

We've got a few that are still hanging on that I'll post as I think of them.
Number one: mom always made coffee cake for breakfast on Christmas morning before opening gifts. It's not always on Christmas morning, but whichever day we're staying with her and opening gifts she still makes the same coffee cake recipe.

Wife and I started a few ones over the years.
We watch White Christmas at least once just before Christmas. The part from the general walking down the stairs in uniform to the end gets me every time.
We make Tom and Jerry's and Molly Hogan's cocktails on Christmas eve.
Our stockings are filled with lotto tickets and one gag or child gift from a joke from this year.

How do you guys do gifts for adults? I think buying gifts for other adults is a waste. I have a decent sized family, three siblings who are married along with my parents. A while back we switched to white elephant where we draw names and get a $25ish gift for that person and I’m very happy we did.
I get stuff for my kids and my nieces and nephews but I don’t expect anything from anyone else or want to get them anything.
My coworker once told me she got a purse for her mom for Christmas and her mom was mad it wasn’t fancy enough. Fuck right off with that.
I’m not against adults getting stuff for other adults if they want to. I did get my parents something this year but I don’t always. I just think it’s weird if it’s expected.
Also, my daughter is nine and likes Nintendo Switch games and I got her the newest Mario Party which I’m also looking forward to playing. Years of buying her Barbies and stuff for her kitchen set has finally paid off.

Only buy gifts for my parents and my kids. Probably time to at least start buying gifts for my brothers kids, but they also don’t buy for ours currently.
Am I a dick for not buying gifts for co-workers (3 older women under me). I don’t want anything from them and they don’t, and I doubt they want a $25 gift card for somewhere they don’t want.

We buy for our parents. We don't buy for her siblings, just their kids.
My wife buys little things for her direct reports.
We don't even buy gifts for each other.

I buy for my parents, niece, nephew and GF, that's it.
My sister, BIL, and myself just decided to ditch getting each other gifts *fist pump*
Knowing how cheap you are, very unsurprising.
