Gaming consoles

Anyone have either a PS4 or Xbox One? I'm considering a console, but haven't decide which way to go. I currently have a Switch, but wouldn't mind adding a 4K gaming machine as well. The worst part is not only do I have to decide on PS4 vs Xbox, I had to decide on the low-spec vs high-spec models.

Any personal experience with either system would be helpful.

4k is worth the price increase. IMO the systems are a wash, both are awesome. If you plan to play online, pick the one more of your friends have. Or browse exclusive games and go with what's appealing.

I've failed the last two years of finding a PS4 Slim on Black Friday due to laziness. This year I'm hearing there will be nice deals on the Pro since the 5 is out next year, so I'm going to wake my ass up early on the 29th.

My parents had an old N64 in their basement with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2.  It's all I've ever wanted or needed.

Looks like Meijer has the PS4 Pro for $299 ($100 off). They also have a PS4 Slim bundle for $199 that comes with 3 games. But I do think I'm leaning towards the 4K version of whichever system I get.

the biggest thing to me would be to get the one with more of the exclusive titles i wanted. I have the OG PS4 and like it. I don't play much (hardly at all) but my kids are starting to get into it. With us finishing the basement and setting up a theater room i'm going to get one of the new systems launching next year (probably the XBOX-Scarlett)

I have 4 Xbox ones.  Use them as cable box as spectrum has an app for the Xbox. So it pays for itself  instead of paying $12 a month to rent a box. Also Microsoft is a part of movies anywhere which is a bonus, not sure if Sony is.

Got the PS4 Pro last year for Black Friday. I really dig it!

How? Where? Online or in person?

If online, when should I check to get a deal? I tried at like 10am last year. Way too late.

Last year, in person Thanksgiving evening at the closest GameStop. Wasn't really expecting it to still be in stock since Black Friday deals tend to be in very limited numbers, but it was. Regular $399 price, I think, but it came with a $50 gift certificate and Red Dead 2, so it was essentially $100 off considering the worth of the extras (which didn't bother me as I would likely have gotten Red Dead 2 at some point AND the gift certificate got used to get 2-3 used games for minimal cost.

I've gone almost a decade without a console other than the Switch. I don't need a PS5 any time soon.

I have a GameStop 3 blocks away. I'll stop in there before next week. Looks like they open a 3pm on Thanksgiving day. I'll probably just go for the $200 Slim.

I'm seeing $299 with the new COD at Bestbuy and a few others, but I do not want to physically go anywhere. May just pull the trigger online now.
