What are some of your favorite Documentary Series?

Ken Burns Baseball, best ever (of course I am a HUGE baseball fan).

 

Ken Burns did a great job on many other documentaries as well.

When I was teaching, I used Ken Burns' Civil War. Excellent (Shelby Foote).

Just finished up The Staircase and Evil Genius on Netflix both are excellent. Evil genius is about the pizza guy who had the bomb collar strapped to his neck for a bank robbery back in the day

I may have seen that, is that the one where they try to show what life would be like 10 years, 50 years, 100 years, etc if humans were gone suddenly? Like what would happen to cities, nuclear reactors, etc?

I found it interesting even if unbelievable at times, but definitely worth seeing.

I love documentaries.

Any Ken Burns one. Civil War, his latest on Vietnam, and baseball were all great. 

I also love the Martin Scorsese PBS series on the Blues. 7 part series with Scorsese and Clint Eastwood directing various parts. 

Ric Burns: New York: A Documentary Film. 8 part series on the history of New York. 

On PBS I love all of the NOVAs, Frontlines, and the American Experiences. 

Last year PBS did a series about World War I. It was really well done. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/great-war/

"Drain The Ocean" is one I like to watch.  I think we would be amazed at the different topography and geology if we could see in real time all of ocean floor above water.

Also like "The Planets" with Mike Massimino (I highly recommend his autobiography about becoming an astronaut), and "Through The Wormhole" with Morgan Freeman.

20 years ago I used to watch "Wings" on Discovery Channel, and "Biography" on A&E just about every night.

Not sure if Deadliest Catch is considered a documentary, but I've been a huge fan since it first aired.
