So our German Shepherd of 13 years died in May and we are finally getting back on the horse. We will be picking up this furball up from Bergerhaus German Shepherds in Halifax PA on the 7th

This is Hank. He thinks our house is his castle and that he is guarding it from ever-threatening danger.
On the left is Abby, a 12 year-old Mountain Cur mix. Her new baby brother is 9 month-old Luuk, a Treeing Tennessee Brindle.
Within the last two years, we lost two of our four (congestive heart failure and canine cognitive dysfunction respectively), but these are our current two:
Gosh a ruddies.
I'm too lazy to post a pic the correct way.

Unfortunately, I lost my lab Walker in July 2018. He developed a mass in his abdomen and basically stopped eating. Was the hardest decision I ever had to make. He was such a good boy.

Wow. He looks a ton like our Thud, who had the canine cognitive disfunction. It's been just over a year since we lost him, too.
Is there a trick to post a picture? Every time I pick upload and "send to server" it never works.

I use imgbb and just copy the code it gives after uploading into the text box on here.

I'm sorry he died. Losing a dog is really hard. I'm a lifelong dog lover and every time I've lost one, I think, "I can't do this again". But then nothing is better than getting a new little buddy to form a bond with. Dogs are the best and I cannot imagine not having one.

^ This.
I don't know that I could ever be without at least one.

We lost our previous guy at the end of December several years ago. My thought was to wait on another until spring to avoid the trips outside in the weather. In mid-January, I found myself telling my wife about seeing a special event they were having at the shelter that weekend. Of course we came home with our current girl. Couldn't stand the quiet.

I get it. The truth is, I could probably never have fewer than two. I always want them to have siblings, and they say that if there's a wider range in age, the younger ones tend to keep the older ones healthy longer, because they'll get them to run and play more.
We've seen that with ours. Our little guy is twelve, and the big one is six. They play much more than the little one would if he were the only pup. It's really nice.
But I've already talked to my wife about getting another one before either of them go, because I don't want the other to have to cope with it alone. If it's hard on us, I know it's hard on them, too.

Had him for 15 years, great pal; had to put him down two years ago. Miss him a ton.
This is Lily. She is a Maltese and is 13 years old. Nickname: Cujo
All of the dogs I see on this thread are beautiful and awesome!
From left to right, Shooter (11), Ellie (11), Desi (12).
