Do you text (or use your phone in general) while driving?

On my walk into work this morning, the first 3 or 4 cars that drove past me, every single driver had their phone in their hand, looking at the screen, glancing back up at the road every now and then. It drives me absolutely nuts when I see this, but it seems to be pretty common to see people on their phone while driving.

I'm curious what everyone else's phone habits are when they are driving. My car has android auto built in, so I can do just about anything I want (including making calls, replying to or sending texts, changing radio stations, etc) with my voice. Before I had this car my phone would staying in my pocket while I drove.

I do. But I try to limit it, typically at lights or while I’m on a straight shot with no other cars. I don’t browse around on my phone or anything like that, but I will answer texts.

I am guilty of it. I don't text much, but I will scroll down twitter on my drive to work in the morning. It really doesn't get above 25mph and is stop and go for the most part.

I use Google Voice to answer texts, but not very often. I'll check them at stoplights or on the highway when there's not a lot of traffic.

I don't mind when people are checking at stops, though will get annoyed when they aren't paying enough attention and don't go when traffic starts back up.

I typically see a lot of people staring at their screens while speeding down the highway. That's what really drives me nuts.

Being rural and lucky to pass another vehicle to and from work I'll check my phone at stop signs, but rarely while moving.

Depending on traffic (and who it is), I'll answer a call. Have never texted while driving, don't text all that much in any case.

I'm not going to vote on the poll because I talk on speaker phone when driving but never text.

I will talk on the phone (I'm not good at dialing when I'm driving so I usually only call someone when I'm at a light) and I also live pretty rural so I will text or read texts if there's nobody coming. I don't think I could do that in traffic.

Calls....yes as I have bluetooth.

Texts...not while car is in motion.  If I need to, will pull over and stop.

I can run calls through my car. Other than that, while driving, I might respond to a text at a stop, but other than that, I don't use the phone for much other than checking a score on ESPN if I'm stuck driving during a game I want to keep up with.

I answer calls through my car bluetooth... I will text/browse but it is typically only at stoplights.

Only when I need to update someone on my status. In other words, won’t text or email regular stuff, but will text a coworker/wife/etc “hey, hit traffic be a bit late to hotel”. Something like that.

I HATE that.  It's more rude and inconsiderate than cutting someone off, but people keep doing it and apparently immune to get honked at (think about that - some of these people must get 2-3 honks every time they go somewhere in their car).

The other day I was behind a lady who also was driving slowly or excessive distance behind the car in front of her, so clearly texting while driving.  I was waiting for it to cost me a light and then I was going to go postal, but fortunately didn't happe.

Don't have a mobile device so I probably shouldn't answer the poll either.
