No trouble. I read a Buzzfeed-type article with some comical stories* and decided to ask here. 

*Yes, I realize it's a mostly serious thing.

I was going to say I feel like most on OC have been in long term marriages.  Since most of you have sustained your marriages, how about  you all share your best practices lol?

Will be married 10 years in July.  Hated every minute of it. 

21 years here.  Have a cousin going through a difficult divorce right now.  Seems like a nightmare - especially for the kids aged 15, 11 and 6.

Just hit 23 years 3 weeks ago

We were very young, didn’t know each other a long time. We made things work to finish college and raise a young daughter. Our ways are different a bit but mesh well even though. She’s very responsible and pretty much on top of every thing that needs done. I’m very flexible, responsible and am good at talking mountains down to mole hills.

Been married almost 3 years now. So, not at the level of most on here. But also no help.

Thirteen year first marriage. Like BR1986FB, ended very Springer-like and not from my side. But I wouldn't have changed a thing, because without that happening, I wouldn't have found my life partner, going on 27 years now. I'm happy. 

Got divorced in '07 after about 5 years of marriage, although we'd been separated for a year or so before that. Don't know that there are funny stories about it. She got more selfish and a bit unstable, I didn't handle that so well, she started messing with hard drugs, we separated, I realized I liked not having her around, when she refused my terms (100% off the hard stuff and away from all her old friends who encouraged/did it), I spent the $$$ to end it and haven't had one day of looking back or regret. Or any of my shit or $$$ coming up missing, for that matter.

Same here as far as the money aspect went. I bought all of the furniture, TV, etc and was going to fight over it but my boss told me "just walk away....the peace you'll have from not being in that situation is way more valuable than any material item." I agreed.

29 years this coming September.  I have no intention of letting her go.  Sorry, can't help.

Will hit 20 year this year.  Always listen and make sure she finishes first.
