Dining out in the age of covid

Curious what the rest of you are doing as far as dining out, especially now that outdoor dining will be winding down soon.

We're indoor/outdoor/takeout/whatever diners. My in-laws are outdoor only. We have friends that haven't had a meal outside of their home since March.

I'll do outdoor once a week or so, but I'm over it. Mostly due to early closures and it's just a pain in the ass just to go out and have a beer. Places get full quick, especially on nice days/weekends.

Haven't done indoor yet here, but I did a few times in Denver in June.

Indoor, outdoor, takeout... we'll do it all.

We do it all but not much. Only indoor a couple times. Been drinking on patios several times but I suppose that’ll end soon. Not sure what we will do this winter but doubt it’ll be much.

I feel bad for restaurants. We were in Frickers Saturday night and it should have been busy. NBA finals game, college football, and maybe baseball(?) all going on and after 10pm it was pretty empty. There’s no point in being there if you can’t drink. It probably closed at 11pm. I agree with a lot of DeWine has done but the 10pm alcohol rule needs to be done. He’s going to murder these places once the outdoor dining goes away.

Haven’t had a meal outside of the home since February (unless you count lunch at work, as I’m back in the office 2 days a week), but I would be in the same boat regardless because we have the new 6 month old twins and I’m not dragging them and the 3 year olds out to a damn restaurant.

We do get food to pick up, or DoorDash, a couple times a week.

Mostly takeout at home, but that’s kore because we have an 18 mo old.

When I travel, I eat anything anywhere. Some places are too crowded so to takeout or delivery in the hotel room. But indoor if it’s available is fine, as is outdoor. Most the places I’ve been while traveling are starting to put up the heated tents, so they will have outdoor all winter.

CT and PA have rules where you have to have food in front of you to have alcohol. Some states it’s an actual entree, which is ridiculous. The place we went to last Friday said don’t finish the fries (cheapest item we could get) or you have to order more.

I voted indoor/outdoor, but it really isn't often, and usually takeout bc of also having little kids. If outdoor is available I would choose it over indoor just as a precaution. Luckily it is decently warm enough to eat outside here until December.

Very limited eating outside the house (unemployment). But, when we do, it doesn't matter.

Since it hit in March I think I’ve done 2 steakhouses. Takeout dozens and dozens of times.

I haven’t missed it much and that surprised me because we loved going out to eat.

I wear a mask when walking to the table, then remove at table as pictured below

I've done it all, but only been indoors about three times in the last half-year or so. Mainly done takeout over that time. It's not that I have a problem with being inside, it's more that I've kept the house stocked with food, so I don't have the same inclination to eat out as I did in the past unless I'm on the road and hungry.

We do take out and door dash. We have little kids so we never went out much anyways but we’re not going out now.
