As in all crises, the market adjusts, and you have winners and losers in the end. You have current businesses who's business will sore, and other businesses who will crash hard, and die out. Same with industry, not just business-specific. So, in your opinion, who or what are the winners and losers when this is said and done? No politics (plz try), and trying not to get personal (ie - people will die, they're the losers) if that makes sense.
Winners
- Zoom - It's a buzz word now, and it will be how business, school, etc. is conducted from this point forward. Zoom is where it's at right now, so when other players enter the game, they better be ready.
- At home meal services - We currently are doing Hello Fresh. What are some others?
Losers
- Brick and mortar Retail - Online shopping is very prevalent already, but I think this increases logistics of parcel services to get items to folks quicker, and folks will ditch retail

I also think China, and globalization in general, are going to be big losers.
I'm OK with that one.

Winners - zoom, meal delivery kits, uber eats/ grubhub, any creative restaurant/ brewery that can hang out with specials and to go orders, customers will remember that when we get out of this.
Losers- a bunch: Retail stores such as Macy's/ JCP could go bankrupt even sooner, restaurants operating on a shoestring budget, people with rental homes who can barely cover the mortgage, boutique hotel owners or franchise owners who won't get occupancy back up for months. Small tour operators in tourism rich cities.

I mentioned that a month ago with meal services. Man, did I miss the boat. Short Uber / Long HelloFresh - how great would that trade have been?!?
I have no idea where Zoom came from or how it has muscled in on such a crowded and competitive space as video conferencing. I see Jimmy Kimmel doing it - and specifically mentioning it by name - and it makes me thing they've spent A LOT of money for this exposure.
Obviously travel (airlines, hotel, tourism) is the biggest loser.
I also think China, and globalization in general, are going to be big losers.
I would throw in the EU to piggy off of this. I thought brexit was the beginning of the end, but after this I definitely think the EU as we know it won't exist in 10 years.
I do hope China is the biggest loser in all of this.

Agreed on Zoom as a winner. It is great how many people are using it now. My company has been using Zoom for 2.5 years. I'm a big fan of it. It has so seamless and the ability have a lot of people on a call with little lag time is great. The A/V quality is way better than say Skype or Go To Meeting. The ability to easily share screens is also very nice.
(That sounds like a plug, but seriously it is so much better than Skype. )
The ability to work from home is a winner. Most companies were starting to go that way anyways, but I think after all this, old school companies will be surprised how many people can now work remote/ from home.
Off of that, a loser is everything tied to a large office space environment, including lunch spots, office space, large office parks, and everything tied to have large groups of people sitting in one location.

Amazon ads require a click and purchase within 24 hours. So, if you're thinking of ordering on amazon and want to send a buck my way, you can click an ad before ordering.
The other ads require clicks to make anything, but you shouldn't click unless you're interested in the advertised item.

Well then, do you have any control over ads? Because there are a lot of women's clothing ads on here. Might only get clicked by CC.

LOL. I'll assume his wife has used his computer and that's what's triggering those ads to show up. If it were Spock, I'd assume crossdressing.
