Think back to your high school days....about how many cheerleaders did your school have from 9th-12th grade?
An estimation will be fine

8ish. possibly 10 but not more than 10
Six Cheerleaders and One Mascot.
12
6 or 7.
But nobody cared. Cheerleading is useless.

High school sports are for high schoolers. No one cares what an old ass gym teacher thinks.
6-8 depending on the year.
Six or seven for each of the varsity, JV, and freshman. So somewhere around 20.
If you count all 3 levels(frosh, JV, Varsity), probably close to 20. I’d say 6-8 ish in each squad.
Our school probably has 16-20. Cheerleading needs to be governed by the same OHSAA rules as all other sports, then I will gain a little more respect for it. Currently, MS/HS coaches must follow a strict set of rules in terms of contact with players, practicing, etc., in and out of season. Cheerleaders, however, do not have to follow the same set of rules. Our school has had a number of stupid injuries in cheerleading.
6-8? Not sure everyone read the question unless same squad cheering at every freshman, JV, varsity game.
I started this random thread as my hometown school just had tryouts and forty effing one made the cut lol
11 freshman
15 JV
15 Varsity
Good god

We had 6 varsity and 6 JV. No freshman squad. I also went to a tiny school and graduated with 52 people. 41 girls did not want to be cheerleaders.
I'd have to look up an old high school yearbook to be sure, but 5-7 for three levels sounds about right.
My HS had separate teams for football, basketball and soccer (varsity, jv and freshman), so there were a lot. They also had a competition team, which were the "best" out of all those teams I mentioned.

You went to a huge school. I remember seeing on FB one time that there were cheerleaders at a soccer game.
Speaking of your old school, what do you think of the latest controversy?

Then we could put this thread in the high school sports forum
We had 6 each for freshman, JV, and varsity back in the early to mid-1970's. Now at our varsity football games it seems like at least 12 out there.
This question blows my mind, because I really have no idea. I had older siblings, so there's about a 10-yr window for me to have noticed this. I literally went to almost every basketball and football game over 10 years, and I can't answer this question with certainty.
And I really have no clue. My best guess is 8, give or take 2 (so 6-10, which is a horrible recollection LOL). And then I'm trying to remember if it might actually been 6 varsity and 6 JV at football games. I thought it was 8, but it could have been 12...or even 16.
Or maybe not that odd. I couldn't tell you half the names of my teachers. Not sure I could name even 40 of my classmates, 20+ years later.
Small school, graduate about 60 each year (30 boy/30 girl). For football usually around 8 for each varsity and JV. For whatever reason last year they had like 14 on varsity and 3 or 4 on JV.
They have far fewer for basketball season.

we could, but then it would be overrun by chiefy jones--and nobody wants that...
our high school had 6-8 varsity cheerleaders, and prolly the same amount for freshman & JV

Massillon has the best cheerleaders, they have the best everything.
Maybe if our football players hit and kicked the cheerleaders you would become a fan of Massillon.
