Tell us some nice things or something really nice you’ve done of late.

Me:

Have a kid with crappy home life, I’ve been giving him a ride to and from XC practice throughout the summer because his people won’t take him.

We have a teacher who has had some bad health issues. I make a lot of trips by the copier and mailboxes and each time I walk her stuff upstairs to her.

Our local Pondergrosa just shut down....building landlord has new eating establishment sharing building and refused to fix air conditioning and letting building go downhill....mixed with awful and getting worse and kinda high prices...largest Ponderosa in US is no longer. I hadn’t been in 4 years but my kid and I made one last visit for a lunch and it was atrocious and for some reason was $27? Anyways asked waitress if she had a job to take its place and she listed off 4-5 bad possibilities. Building was about 85 degrees but left her a $25 tip. From the looks of the crowd there were a lot of people begrudgingly making their final visit and leaving nice tips for the waitresses.

My dog is such a diva. He had a recent medical scare and the vet sent home special wet & dry food to change his diet.

Historically, he has NOT been a fan of any kind of dog food. The last few days he hasn't eaten the the wet food, off the plate, or the dry food, out of the bowl...that I've been putting down.

So this morning, I thought I'd try something that might play on his greedy/jealous nature. I took a bowl of the dry food, sat down on the floor, and took out individual pieces of kibble yelling "treat" really excited and, wouldn't ya know..."crunch, crunch, crunch." He ate it because he didn't want one of the cats to get it. Put the bowl down on the floor & said "treat"....nothing.

I had to sit for 20 minutes feeding that delicate little flower, by hand, saying "treat" until the bowl was almost empty. So spoiled...but at least he ate and I'll do it again & again

Yeah, not going to be doing that...but my dog eats everything so no such issues

That's the problem with our dog. He's a little asshole. He's stolen McDonald's cheeseburgers from my girlfriend and has eaten them, wrapper and all. He's not a fan of actual dog food.

I went to a play supporting CANAPI on Monday. I usually go to 4 or 5 charity events/year. 

I like to give away extra tickets to games or concerts when I can.

I have sent books to strangers on Twitter.

We had a homeless kid that i gave all my christmas gift cards to.  

I am getting ready to donate a large sum of money to a family with a ill child.

I have bought shoes for kids before.

I make all my kind gestures anonymous

My dog would have ate the food out of the bowl, eventually he would have been hungry enough to do it.

To stay on topic however, a few weeks ago I went down to WV to help rebuild some homes damaged in the floods of last year. 

WV had some bad floods and started to get FEMA help until Houston happened then WV seemed to have been forgotten. Now the area is being rebuilt by a Christian organization that has had 9 straight weeks of youth groups there helping rebuild as those youth groups' "Mission's Trip" that year. 

^^^now this is what I think the OP had in mind 

Gave my car to the friend of a neighbor.

The guy has worked on cars pretty much his whole life, but a few recent medical expenses made it impossible for him to afford one.

I had an old Chevy Impala that needed a little bit of work (replace transmission hoses and the power steering line), but since I work from home, I pretty much never drive it and haven't gotten around to getting it fixed.

Told him he was welcome to it if he was willing to fix it.

I have done the mission trip thing.  Also i bought a car for a buddy of mine who knocked his girlfriend up in HS.

I carry a extra Giant Eagle $25.00 gift card with me, when I see a family or individual that looks to need help. I give the card to the manager ( they know me) and tell them to make sure the cashier gets the card to pay for their groceries.

Our Church has a "You've been Gifted"  program. Simple program where we buy someone meal, without them knowing who paid the bill ( I do mostly older couples or older people eating alone) at a restaurant, give the waiter this card  "You've been Gifted" with a message on the back and our Church invite to come.  

Once a mouth I send a $75.00 Giant Eagle gift card to a Family of a Veteran who is have difficulties ... with a note "Thank You" 

I work one Sunday a mouth at the Haven of Rest for 1/2 day

Helped a church in southern Kentucky give away 165 backpacks filled with school supplies and 120 pairs of shoes.  

Where we moved to has an old lady living across the street and a couple times a week I have been doing some work for them around their house.  

That...and oh yeah, I havent been on here for awhile so I have been giving sportslady a break in getting absolutely owned by me on here

Have helped build Habitat for Humanity houses. I usually donate the materials to plumb the house. I have done this a few times. I have recently started getting into the veteran housing stuff. Help build, plumb, hvac/r, electric, and siding. I do not do roofing so that is about the only thing I have refused to help with. I have really gained interest again in doing these houses since I lost 190 lbs.
