no desire. i get the appeal though and see that in the next 10 years something along these lines will be the new normal, so eventually i'll probably end up with this or some iteration of it.

Granted, I haven't looked much into it, but the card doesn't really appeal to me without travel/dining perks. My CSR I get 3x for travel and food.

Rewards are just ok. 1% all purchases, 2% if you use Apple pay, 3% apple store. No annual, no foreign transaction fees.
Used it twice today. The main thing for me is the UX, dashboard and seeing the actual cashback amounts dumped into your Apple cash account.
Doesn't compete with the Preferred or Reserve tho, but also no fee.
I've been thinking of getting the Reserve, what's this I hear about the $350 travel credit? A friend mentioned it to me. Basically cutting the annual fee to $100.
It's $300. Every 1 January it resets and any travel purchase you make (flights, trains, hotels, uber, etc) is automatically reimbursed up to $300. Normally when my travel credit resets, I just buy a $300 airbnb gift card and call it a day (unless I have a flight I need to book). When I got my CSR a few years ago, I received it around late November. I was able to use the $300 credit for that year and then it reset in January. So, if you are considering the CSR, I would definitely get it during the last quarter of the year. It will allow you to double dip on the travel credit. I got the CSR when they were offering the 100K bonus, but I still think it is worth it, especially if you travel. The priority pass lounge and global entry alone is pretty legit.

I wrote an equation for each of the Chase cards back when I was picking between them and determined that I didn't spend enough on food/travel at the time to make the Reserve benefits outweigh the Preferred. Both would have been good cards, but there is a calculatable spending amount at which the Reserve takes an edge. I'm guessing I'm closer to that amount now that we travel more.
Maybe I'll reassess this weekend, thanks for the CC thread to remind me.

I saw the thread title and thought apple was creating a golf course that would give exact distances, stimpmeter, interactive handicap

but since it's apple, you would have to play with wiffle balls, because normal Polyurethane balls would disintergrate on the grass.

I did not. I have heard that it is very hard to get approved for. Like it’s almost a black card type deal.

My wife has one. We use it for any purchase throughout the various app stores and used it to buy her new phone and my new watch. The 3% back on in-store purchases is nice. We probably won't use it for much else unless we can pay with Apple Pay and get 2% back.
