Plastic lemons
Yes. What are they for?

If communication is down but you know the travel route .... we bought 100 plastic lemons in a garage sale for $5.00 what better usage than an indicator of if you been some place along the travel route (lemon at mile markers) or how far you've gotten if at all. Potentially the last place to look if the lemons stop.

Got it, makes sense. Small and bright, easy to spot. Any worry that others are using the same plan and might overlap with your route? Seems low risk, but...
Also curious of her dirtbike situation. Is it rigged out with hard saddlebags? How much gear can she hold on it and still travel easily?
Where is the dirtbike stored? Her location? (apartment/house?)
Is this dirtbike primary purpose to use in this situation?

Dirtbike 150 CC light and quick on road and off road
Bug out bag, back pack type. pistol, ammo, blanket, jerky, water, ID, lemons, rain gear, flares, flash light .... light weight less that 30 pounds

So just strapped onto the seat behind her? I don't think a 150cc bike would work for me, but I'm looking at some potential 250cc options that I can also use for regular work commutes.

She now lives in Wicker Park area, has a garage space for her car, moped and dirtbike and storage. Uses the car to come home and grocery shop, trips, moped 50 CC to work in the summer non-license requires, dirtbike some times just for fun ...

It a small bike for her to handle on or off road. This was never something to be used every day.
Bigger guy a 350 CC is good but a 450 CC better ride on the street. I'm not a dirtbike guys but for the few time I have ridden i prefer the 450 CC
posted by O-TrapSeems a shovel would be better for that. Tarp might make a decent covering if Belly had to flee into the woods, though. For anything else, I'd prefer a contractor bag. A few, actually.
posted by justincredibleI'm considering a dual sport motorcycle (I've wanted to get a motorcycle for a while now, I miss my old one) as a way to get out of the city if shit goes down. If you're in a car, you're screwed.
Also, hi Belly.
Not a bad idea. I live close enough to the Summit Metro Parks. If shit goes down, we're packing up and heading in there.
First defense should be your home and neighbors support. My family will come to my house and from there we will plan a location destination if needed. We know of farm property that friends have, that has talked about meeting there with them.
Less likely strangers involvement ....
