I'm interested in picking up a pair, not sure if I should go tree or wool. Any experience with either?

Wool sounds terrible. Tree ones look ok. Eucalyptus tree shoes lol

Tad pricey

Yes. They are amazing. I have the Wool. So comfortable and breaths way better than typical shoe material. Way better in the summertime than my old Nike

Which pair do you have? Tree or wool?

I'd question their durability.

I know you can just throw them in the washer. Which leads me to believe the durability is decent.

I'm big on wool shirts, but I worry wool shoes would be too hot in the summer.

I could see just about any pair of shoes surviving a trip through the washer.

First thing that came to mind when I was browsing their site was trail running. If you caught a stick just right, I'll bet it'd tear right through it. A synthetic polymer-based shoe probably would resist such a thing.

I just need a pair for everyday use. I won't be trail running, but agree that I probably wouldn't go this route if I were.

They make running shoes, I just have the regular wool everyday shoes. They are sooooo light. Definitely less hot in the summer than the non-breathable Nikes I had before. Ive thrown them in the wash like 5-6x in the 1.5 years Ive had them. Waited a while initially, but then got a bunch of mud on them in a rainstorm. Ever since then, I wash them like every 3rd month just because.

I have never worn the sock type shoe that is supposed to feel barefoot, but this is pretty lightweight. It actually take a few times out to get used to the feeling. Very light and breathable.

I have the Wool regular ones and love them. I have had them for about 9 months. I wear them out every weekend or so. They have replaced my regular sneakers. I find them pretty comfortable and light. I've washed mine probably twice or so.

I bought wool ones for my dad last Xmas. They look great, says they feel amazing, but they definitely can't take a beating. I wouldn't work out in them, more of a casual shoe.

Yeah, just wear them as casual shoes. Not great for running, working out, etc. No ankle/toe protection. Dropping anything on them may break a toe

Yhe do make a pair of shoes for that though, if you needed workout pair.

I'm definitely looking for just an everyday casual shoes, so they shouldn't get beat up too bad.

I think I'm leaning towards this pair at the moment. I like the idea of the wool more, but I like the look of the tree a little more.

Do you have to show your Hipster Dufus card at the time of checkout?

Just because you wear white New Balance shoes doesn't mean the rest of us can't wear decent looking kicks.

Allbirds are crazy expensive... not sure they cut out for the hipster mold lol. Sorry for wanting nice shoes. I wear Nikes all my life and needed a new pair at least once a year. Allbirds Im on 1st pair and going on 2 years. Seem primed for around another 2 more.

Crazy expensive?  Do you buy your shoes at Kmart?

They were like $95 a pop when I looked which is about what I'd expect.

A decent pair of running shoes will cost about that much too.

For just a casual relaxing atmosphere shoe $95 is a bit high but not crazy expensive. They should last a long time knowing you would be wearing them when you weren’t going to be doing much

Yeah, don't get the crazy expensive comment. They're pricey, but pretty much in line with anything similar.

I’ve never paid more than $40 for a pair of everyday shoes. Certainly more for sport specific, dress shoes, etc. But every day “tennis” shoes...? No. I buy Nikes for around $40. Wouldn’t ever pay for the new ones that are close to $100.

Agreed.

Other than running shoes, I wont pay more than $40/pair of shoes.

Tried a pair of Hoka running shoes before the state wide grounding, they may be the next model i get for runnin.
