All Threads vs visiting individual forums

Curious to know how others use the site. I can tell a bit from google analytics, but wanted to throw this question out to the active user of the site.

When you open up the site, do you go for the All Threads page to see all threads on the site, or do you visit each forum individually?

I just clicked the All Threads link for the first time ever.

My OC book mark is: https://ohiochatter.com/forum

Interesting. I only ever use the All Threads link. I only go to an individual forum if I am looking for a specific thread that I know hasn't been active in a while.

Navigating using all threads is the only way to go

I would say I use all threads about 90% of the time.

With that being said I think both have their places.  I don't think you should change anything, if you are thinking about it.

I'll post some screenshots of what the new design will look like when it launches, or at least close to what it will look like. I'm not getting rid of the individual forums, but I am considering making the "All Threads" page the homepage.

Man, y'all have been missing out. It gives you a list of the most recent threads with activity from all forums.

This is the current iteration of the All Threads listing. The forum menu will always be visible, so visiting a specific forum will be easier than it currently is, one click vs two.

And, very similar, the individual forum listing.

I only use All Threads here, and I only used whatever the Recent Posts equivalent was on the old platform.

With your recommendation Mr-incredible I have used the ALL THREADS and wow, that is the bee's knee!

Now I can navigate quicker and supply more of y'all with more of my great witticisms.

Only use All Threads unless specifically looking for a thread in pro sports or something.

I go to "Subscribed Threads" first.  That is my bookmark.

When viewing new content (about 1x per month) I click on "All Threads"

When posting new threads I go to "Forums"

I've got bad news. Subscribed threads is a huge resource drain so I'm getting rid of it, at least in its current form.

Does the same when I tap on each forum. I like the original separation.

Wow, really?  That's how I've accessed all forums for the entirety of my forum viewing life.

Computer science me up.  How does it drain the resources?

The 4 seconds it saves, we all have the time now.

Probably just bad queries on my end, and I also don't like the Subscribe/Unsubscribe button cluttering the UI. I can probably keep it around. It's used at the rate of about 1/10th of the All Threads page, so not often, but still not insignificant.

I never knew there was an "All Threads" option. My bookmark is set to the Forums site. I rarely go anywhere outside of "Serious Business."

The Subscribed Threads can stay, but the My Threads is definitely getting the axe. I don't think it even works.

Search will be getting a huge overhaul. The current version sucks a big one.

Never used All Threads because I couldn’t filter out the forums I didn’t care about at all (Politics, HS). If there was a way to customize the All Threads to show only forums you select, I’d use it. Otherwise, I’ll stick to going individual forums.
