You're a liberal man.  You voted Obama twice and still will defend him to your grave.  Overall it's impossible to call yourself conservative.  This site might be a small sample size, but overall most of us seem to be pretty moderate left or moderate right.  There are a few left/right outliers on this site (some don't post anymore), but nobody here is looking at your posts and saying "yeah that dude is definitely a conservative."  This isn't an attack on you though.  I think you are a reasonably moderate liberal.  Very hard to find these days.  I know they are out there, but they are pretty silent.

Say what you want about conservatives, but I do appreciate how conservatives have dissent within conservatism.  Liberals these days don't have much room for dissent.  It's either get in line or gtfo.

I am liberal to you....but again, to most people I am in the middle. I'd agree I'm not a conservative in the modern sense.

I did vote for Governor Larry Hogan twice and in the House races in MD, for the Republican twice. But, they are/ were moderates and the Ds were waaaay too liberal.

I'd agree moderates are a dying breed. The days of being the pragmatist are gone, which I think the main reason we are so divided as a country.

Are you sure about your last point? Mitt Romney would disagree.....

I think both areas have big disagreements within their ranks. Never Trumpers v. Trumpers for example.

Why would he disagree?  He has and still will dissent.  The house republicans do it all the time.  They couldn't even repeal obamacare.  Hell Amash (a conservative) just straight up left the party.   Many more examples of dissent within conservative ideology vs liberals.

Eh, I think we're seeing some subversive opposition to the Clod Squad from within the Democratic ranks.  Just as well, there is seemingly a subset of "Bernie-or-bust" ones as well.  They were PISSED for the 2016 primaries, and I'd wager they still will be.

I don't know that I see substantially more infighting within one of the two major parties than the other.

Eh, for sure and I called this back in 2016.  However despite their "infighting" they all step up and vote in line every single time. I stand by my comment there are way more examples of dissent within the conservatives than liberals.
