Bernie is at the front of the beadline, but it's still early. Who ends up with the nomination in the end?

It appears Bernie currently holds a 45-25 delegate edge over Pete.

Bernie... and if he doesn't get enough delegates... you guessed it.. Hillary.

I think it is Bernie's to lose now.

The math is just too tough for everyone else.

Oddly enough Bloomberg may have given the nomination to Bernie.

I went with Pete. No real reason other than I think they try to screw Bernie and Biden lost all steam.

I know Bernie's the only one who can really get enough delegates. But I think there's still a chance he doesn't get enough. I fully believe they'll put Hillary back up if that happens.

Its not Bernie.....there is no way the Dems let a socialist independent run their party.

I say Pete is the only one

Bloomberg is the Dems only hope to unseat Trump, IMO.

Brokered convention....Bloomberg and Mayor Pete combine forces to get the nomination.

Bloomberg has 0 charisma and looking pretty un-electable.

But, as a 3-term mayor of NY and someone who built a new/markets organization employing 20k+....I mean, if you want to talk qualification none of these clowns (including the orange one) can match that.

Unrelated note....I think it's funny how many BILLIONAIRES the "party of the working man" had in this election.  Especially the overcaffeinated Tom Steyer railing on a lot of companies/industries that he made his fortune on.

Someone is wanting to take Bloomerg or Steyer as VP......they would bring a very large wallet

That's a good thought, but those guys will never play second fiddle.

You might get Bloomberg to dump a few billion into Democratic campaigns across the country, though.  Me thinks suddenly Dems don't think Citizen's United was such a bad decision.  That's what's wrong with this country - voters only care about what ONE side of the aisle is doing.

I'd say the Ds have a huge uphill climb regardless of who gets the nomination or any other factors simply due to how fractured the party looks. If it's Bloomberg or one of the other more moderates, I can see a lot of those ALL RESISTANCE ALL THE TIME progressives losing interest and sulking because it wasn't Bernie or Warren because, as a group, that sort seems to be quick to take the "my way or the highway!" stance with absolutely no tact (just read Quaker's posts and imagine he's a left-winger instead of a right-winger and you have the average Twitter-presence progressive).

And if it's Bernie, I think you're pretty much writing off any sort of cohesive support from more moderate/rural/older Ds due to how far his stance is from theirs. I think he'd have an advantage over the moderate candidates in having a large base that'd get fired up and hit the ballot box in droves, but I also think that a lot of more moderate people would either sit out or vote for Trump because when a candidate gets a certain distance from the center (regardless of whether it's to the left or right) that makes a lot of people uncomfortable.

My prediction is Bernie gets the nomination, Bloomberg runs as an Independent, and Trump wins big.

Yes and it’s been looking fractured since the campaigning began.

Serious candidates should always try to play to the middle as much as possible, IMO.

I’m not sure Bloomberg would be allowed to run as an independent because he is not a true independent. This might be seen as misrepresenting the voters.  But if he were to be allowed, I agree, the Dems. would split and Trump romps. Now, if he pulled a Teddy Roosevelt and formed his own Bull Moose party, then maybe so.

I just read an article calling for Romney to run as an independent and to select Bloomberg as his running mate. Again, I’m not sure that would be permitted.

I’m not sure that matters, I think anyone can run if they’ve got the money. I am curious if it’s too late for getting on all of the ballots.

Yes, that would be a problem.

I know that both parties have gotten pretty good at this business of keeping a candidate declaring independent status after losing in the primary at the state and local level out of the general election because it was ruled that they are not true independents.

Or they screw Bernie and he goes independent and Trump wins.
