So VICE news had a couple of reporters that were caught breaking into the co-founder of 8chan's house.
I wonder if these idiots were just after some extra credit - trying to make a name for themselves?
Or was this a field job that they were sent on?

LOL @ OTrap for negging you for it not being a meme in the wrong thread.

Motherfucker.
Can you tell I only got 3 hours of sleep? lol
Removing the negs, but not going to try to explain this away. Might bring the lulz.
I didn't even see that it was neg'd. Hilarious!
I'm used to seeing people post something in the wrong thread, particularly on the Pro Sports forum, but negging something due to thinking you were on a different thread than you actually were might be a first-time thing!
Damn, good thing OTrap wasn't more pro-active or virtually every single post on every single page of this one might have a neg (or new neg) attached to it!

At the time, CenterBHSfan's post was only the second one on this page, and I had clicked the link to take me to the last page, so that and Devil's Advocate's last post were all I saw, and like an asshole, I didn't check anything prior. :D
posted by gutI predict this whole abortion thing is going to end with the courts affirming Roe v. Wade. Unfortunately, that probably won't end it as a political issue.
I agree partly. The court in recent years has been framing many things from campaign finance to union dues through the first amendment and I think they'll preserve the substance of the ruling through the first amendment while perhaps undoing the right to an abortion under the 5th/14th amendment. Interestingly, this is the argument that Church of Satan has made and that restrictive abortion laws functionally establish a state religion and deny them the right to the free exercise of theirs. So far the courts have avoided this argument throwing out their previous lawsuit on the grounds that they didn't have standing since the plaintiff was no longer pregnant.
posted by gutI really thought this might be some 5th-level behind the scenes string pulling to take abortion away from Dems as a campaign issue. But I don't think that's actually the case, and there's probably not enough time for the courts to rule on this definitively. Although it could, theoretically, get fast-tracked to SCOTUS and they just decide not to hear the case (assuming the law is overturned at lower levels based on precedent).
It would be a brilliant tactical move if that was the case. Your buddies in AL take some heat, but probably survive it. The rest of the party gets to point to it and say Roe v Wade is settled law, once and definitively for all.
Doesn't make much sense to me. I don't see the pro-life agenda helping Repubs to win many elections. You gotta go with the "I'm pro-life, but I recognize abortion will remain legal and I don't oppose that".
I'm not so sure. Yes, Trump won over some traditionally Democratic voters on trade and immigration but he has maintained his strident support among a large faction of the conservative base because - despite all of his flaws - he was the vehicle through which conservatives would be appointed to the courts and hopefully overturn Roe v. Wade.
Also - even if it gets overturned, I think you'll then see a surge of legislative action to try and stop Ohioans from going to Illinois and New York for abortions, etc. And, on the left, they will then be on a crusade to codify roe v. wade or something like it. So it will still be a political football in my opinion.

But first they'll increase Planned Parenthood's funding so they can provide bus service....

Good idea. Will be fun to watch Ohio GOPers try blatantly violate the privileges and immunities clause of the constitution to try and prevent the abortion busses from pouring in from Illinois.

Seems like a rather apt parallel in practice to the attempt to prevent wealthy from emigrating to lower tax rate states.
I don't generally pay attention to what's trending on Twitter. But I just now happened to see that Trump is feuding with Don Lemon now and calling him the dumbest person on television.
I'm not sure what Trump's getting out of this to be honest. Why does he have to label every single person he doesn't like? Honest to God... could he at least act like an adult some of the time??

He's got syphillis.....LOL, I swear I've seen someone claim that before (and they were being serious).
Who saw this coming with the wall procurement?
Media and dems in full batshit crazy mode now in order to deflect from the declassification and future spygate indictments. Hilarious to see, but shockingly dangerous for the republic to have the watchdog of government assisting in the coverup of the largest political criminality in the nation’s history.

I'm not a fan of the AG while consulting with the specific intelligence agencies, basically saying he is allowed to publish the information over their objection. So, if the DNI or NSA state some information should stay classified, he can overrule them.
But, hey, lock them up right?

Me. I knew Trump wouldn't understand how government procurement works. Nobnody does to be fair.
Edit: there are some potential options though to get Trump what he wants.

Indeed and that has rightly been a failure.

If a watchdog can be bribed, radicalized, or otherwise corrupted, then the watchdog system is broken.
All the more reason to investigate the investigators ……especially the leakers who attempt to influence public opinion.

If that's even plausible, then the SYSTEM set up for watchdogs is flawed and needs to be looked at. Not just the people.
We KNOW the NSA or someone has been monitoring and recording all phone conversations because of Snowden. So of course Trump and his campaign calls were included. Did Obama direct someone to give this info to Hillary's team? Or did someone else? I would not be surprised. I think it's a fair question to ask.

Well, I don't think you can even rise to that level of political life without being some sort of viper.

Well, the FISA courts, for example, reject something like 0.1% of applications. It's basically a rubber-stamp, and I think we may see with the FISA warrants around the Trump campaign that it's actually a pretty low standard.
Until people demand better from the politicians they actually vote for - and don't only get outraged when it's the other side doing it - nothing will change.
