So this has been getting shockingly little attention.

I mean, I get that a pandemic is probably a bigger story, but this bill is the biggest, most invasive load of bullshit since the PATRIOT Act.  It's practically a different side of the same coin.

But you can trust the government, guys.  They're here to help keep us safe.

Between this and Lindsey Graham's support of red flag laws last year, I just HAVE to believe that Republicans are starting to see him as just as big a "big-government" politician as any of the ones in the current Republican Party.

The 'TL;DR' version of the bill is this: "We the federal government are hereby going to hunt online sexual predators, so we're going to need you to surrender all of your online privacy to us."

So this bill is a step to combat sexual exploitation of minors?  What's wrong with that?

Those are the professed ends.

The means are that all information is basically sent in such a way that government has access.  Zero privacy.

Think the PATRIOT Act, but for the digital age.  They're just using an updated version of the most noble of motives.
