I don’t think an 8 hour class makes that big of a difference anyway I don’t have a problem with it

Yeah the 8 how class is pretty much a joke.

Good law and a win for 2A if passed. Part of me feels like this is DeWine's way of appeasing residents who are pissed off at the gas tax proposal (was this passed???).

Constitutional carry. I like it. Seems like several states are starting to move in this direction.

I have a buddy that works in the state house. He said they are serious about passing this but are having a problem with a provision that you can carry concealed as long as the gun is registered.

That's the problem. They are trying to start a registry administered by a new program with the sheriff's office to gain compliance. The idea meaning that if you are willing to go through the process of registering your hand gun then you more than likely are reliable enough to carry concealed?
My buddy said that the anti gun people threw this compliance stipulation in just to force people to register thier guns because they knew this would pass and they couldn't stop it.
Also, you would still need a CCW just so you could travel interstate to avoid prosecuon in reciprocating states.
While I am pretty indifferent about the issue, I think it's looking like a wild west scenario. And for the record I am a CCW permit holder

My son is a gunsmith/gunsalesman and he cleared up this registering business for me. I had thought that everyone had to register. Not so.
So now I understand what the problem is with having to register with your local law enforcement.

I'd rather maintain the current concealed carry system (of which I am licensed) than move to registering individual guns.

Keep the present CCW system, (however requirement change 3 hours per year range time). If you're going to be a gun owner and a licences CCW carrier than you should have some degree of proficiency. I"m not registering any of my weapons to the local, state or federal... Until the politicians publish thier home address on their website and political signage of candidates have to indicate their political party in the same type size as their name.

per QO's link:
allows the temporary seizure of guns from people who are determined to be a danger to themselves or others.
Who determines this? Psychologist? Police? Neighbor? Spouse?

Well I guess it just surprises me that whoever did the legwork of finding out THAT much also didn't ask that one more little question and write it also.

I prefer neither, but I agree.
